...and make *reliable* drives. I've had 2 500GB and a 320 GB Seagates die, a 1TB Hitachi is beginning to act on its own, so far the only drives I have that seem to work OK are WD (Green, in the PVR). Seagate has a long history of having problems (firmware, hardware) since they bought Maxtor. Give me a reliable 1-2 TB drive instead. So far WD are the only drives that didn't die here.
Huh? I'm running 10.5.8 on a 400Mhz G4 right now (with a modified/flashed unsupported PC nVidia 6200 card nonetheless). The installer checks for a minimum 867Mhz speed, which is easy to trick using Open Firmware, *AND* at least a G4 CPU. Your machine has much higher specs than that.

I'm surprised as to why it says your machine isn't supported, since it should work with Leo, even according to Apple. Which PowerBook is it?
Creating a RAID 5 array on OS X, is really not that hard. On Windows, pretty trivial too, never got around playing with it on Linux though, must be pretty straightforward.
Personnally, I prefer SOFTWARE RAID, because it's easier to recover from a failed array compared to a hardware card that is not manufactured anymore.
(example, take the drives to another MAC or Windows machine, they will be recognised automagically if it's done with the OS, not so if the controller went belly up...)
I'm running a raid 1 on an old G4, and RAID-5 on an old Win2k Server machine, and they are easier to manage than the one in my Proliant (Hardware)
I have to disagree. I have a no-name Atheros 5007, a RT73 based intellinet and a 8187l based Gsky that all work in linux. Haven't tried my Dlink (5007 based, so should work too)...
Now it can help slow down my browser even more, as if googleanalytics and fsdn and other third parties weren't enough.
Having a fast connection doesn't mean squat if my browser has to connect to a dozen different servers just to render a page. If one of them is slow, it kinds defeats the goal of having a fast pipe.
My point is if the game is good, graphics matter less. For example, Unreal for some reason *CAN'T* run in 1080p on my 23" monitor on my system. So I run it at 720p. The game is still awesome and Shock Rifle combos still kick ass.
Quake2 can be ran at 1080p, But I lose the Cd music and some servers won't allow me to join, so I run it at 1024*768 using the original.exe, and it's still fun and Rocket jumps still work.
Tie Fighter? I own the original Floppy version, It runs at something along to 320*240 and beats the shit out of the collector's edition just because of the iMuse music engine (music changes depending on the action). BTW I run that game on a Win98/DOS 6.22 machine (160Mhz 486 (AMD 5x86@4*40)
Yes, I like a game that can use the features of my videocard, but a fun game doesn't have to have state-of-the-art graphics to be enjoyable and immersive.
Just look at Nintendo's Wii. Crappy graphics by modern standards, doesn't even do HD, but it's still one heck of a console, just for the games...
Heck, sometimes I fire up my C64 (SkyFox/Ultima IV)or my NES (Nobunaga's Ambition) just for fun...
**** It's not compatible (enough) with earlier iPod connectors/interfaces so my iPod capable car stereo won't work with it. A lot of other iPod capable stuff either failed or whinged at me. The phone quite often whinged too. Here's news Apple - if you use a "standard" connector on the thing then support it; don't change the damn internals and then tell the phone to whinge the thing on the other end is too old.****
That's what pisses me off. It uses the *standard* dock connector, yet won't work with many devices designed for ipods. If it uses 12v you're screwed because apple ditched Firewire. Ok, so it won't sync via Firewire, but at least, let it *charge* using 12v. That means older car adapters, clock radios, and many other devices won't work properly with the phone. Yet somehow the phone manages to give an error message about the device not designed for the iphone. So people who switched from an ipod to the iphone have to change their previous stuff.
Jailtime would cost money. I would go for a fine, a *big* expensive fine. Actually, most places have laws against littering, they're just not enforced enough.
It would be against Apple's EULA, but they are several *distros* that allow to install OS X on a PC (iDeneb is one of them)
^
What he said
Tethering was *natively* supported by the OS in June '09 (and supported by Rogers). AT&T didn't support it, but other carriers did.
Which doesn't change the fact that the previous poster's machine should be able to run Leo as it has much better specs.

There were some thinkpads that came with a built-in bay for a Workpad (IBM branded Palm Pilot).

Huh? From lowendmac.com
*G4/350 (Sawtooth) quietly introduced 1999.12.01 at $1,599; discontinued 2000.02.16.*
Besides, Snow Leopard only runs on x86 hardware :)

So I guess they will remove the Levy Tax on recordable media?
It's called MAC spoofing, pretty trivial...
1- type a command in terminal (airodump-ng [adapter])
2- run spoonwep with the values obtained in step 1
3- wait a couple of minutes
Can't get much easier than that (and for free). Why are people paying money for those kits?

Besides, CANDU can use more than one kind of fuel (including waste from other reactor types)

I wish we would use nuclear energy a little more
But will it allow me to jump over those traffic jams?

On Windows, Media Player Home Cinema supports DXVA. I have no problems decoding HD using an old Athlon X2 (2.2Ghz) with a 3850HD.
For Linux, VPAU seems to get the job dome
A good game is not defined by its resolution, graphics and explosions. (Same goes for movies BTW).
A good game is defined by good *gameplay*.

those were left in a laser copier in a police department (sex crimes)
I'm a smoker, and I put my butts back in the cig pack when I don't have an ashtray at my disposal.
So yeah, cig butts should be considered as littering, same as candy wrappers
Jailtime would cost money. I would go for a fine, a *big* expensive fine. Actually, most places have laws against littering, they're just not enforced enough.
That's not the point... a FELONY for kicking a door? What's next, going to jail for littering? /me thinks it's a little excessive
(oh, and I'm posting with my ID, not as AC)
Then so did Commodore. I still have my CP/M cartridge here, it included a Z80 CPU, kinda the same with the Apple ][, but it's external instead.
