I don't usually block a sites graphics unless they do that blink thing or they are some animated gif that changes and distracts from reading the article.
I do use the "Flash click to play" plugin on Mozilla though. Those flash animations are just too distracting.
I run Caldera Linux on a VAIO PCG F370 and it runs great. I can't do the DVD and the Winmodem though. But I think all internal modems in notebooks are winmodems. But since I am nearly always on a network (both home and work) I just use a 3-COM PCMCIA network card and it's fine.

Yeah well, it sounds like the sysadmins at your place have way to much time on their hands.
I'm a sysadmin and I couldn't care less what people mail out. Much less have the time to look over logs to see what is being mailed out.
Well, yes! It is just a chess game, and as you said, a not very interesting one at that.
But the chess game isn't the issue. The issue is that if you cheat and lie at something relatively unimportant then you will cheat and lie at something important.
Actually I keep a copy of l0phtcrack around. I have users who forget their passwords all the time on their NT boxen.
l0phtcrack usually cracks it in just a few minutes, but once I had a guy who actually had a fairly good password. It took about 20 minutes to crack on a PentPro 200. That is not the rule though. Usually it's less than 4 or 5 minutes.
