My biggest problem with this is that the majority of this stuff is american, and its banned over there. I say if we're going to bring down communism we should do it via undermining their contries authority and showing them now the non-commies have it...

And then the Europeans completely annihilated their civilization and race. Funny how you never hear about that but you always hear about all the evils that the United States pulled back in the day with regards to our own natives. Tell me, what's worse? Attempted assimilation and forced moves or genocide?
Europeans are condescending, snouty, arrogant bastards who murdered the Native Americans. Being here for four generations tends to mull a person, while Europe still remains egotistical.
Or Russian for that matter. The Russians had Alaska and doubtless would have eventually colonized the rest of the New World had Europe not beaten them to it. If they had held onto it and history played out mostly the same way -- think of the power of the Soviet Union if it included the Americas.
Alaska is completely worthless besides the oil in the ANWR. Its huge, but worthless. Why else would it be the least populated state in the union? Why else would the purchase of Alaska be referred to as "Seward's folly?"

European countries don't realize how much of a minor power, and very minor importance, they've become since the end of the cold war. With the rising powers in Asia, South America, and even Africa they are becoming about as powerful as comparison of their sizes, ie: as powerful and important as Wisconsin.

"In the end, it seems the only real winner after a hybrid purchase is the environment." Thats not even true, batteries are far worse for the envirornment than gas, and hybrids gas mileage is only about 35 mpg, while my moms 2.5 ton Chrysler gets a good 28. For as light as they are I bet you throw a simple four cylinder in them you could pull just as good or not better gas mileage.

A television every decade? I have 15 tv's, one in every room including bathrooms. HDTV's are still rediculiously over priced. We have one. Just think of all the little portable tv's that will be dead. Target is selling watch televisions still that won't work in a matter of years. The entire concept of shutting off analog is rediculious. When it rains out our digital quite often goes out. We have a great HD antena, but congress seems to have no concept that not everyone lives in urban areas who watches broadcast television.

Is that to say you do not use spell check? Just because we were taught, something in school does not mean we are perfect at it. And why does everyone get so damn defensive when I say I like grammar check? I find the grammar check can be indispensable for accidental screw-ups on words like "there" vs. "their". Yes yes, you say "blah blah blah, you should correct it your self" if you enjoy wasting hours proofreading papers for stupid mistakes go ahead, I on the other hand like having my mistakes pointed out to me, with nice green and red underlines none the less!

If you don't allow outsourcing, you will heart the economy more, companies will LEAVE AMERICA. It is not economicly feasable to hire americans while you can get forigners to work for half the price. Why can they work for half the price? The simple answer is unions have raised everyones wages in the united states higher then they deserve, therefore the price of everything has gone up simply because it can, raising the cost of living for everyone in the united states. If we wan't to stop outsorcing we have to take a wage hit, its that simple. Folowed by the abolishment of Unions, they do nothing but take peoples money now.
