"How long does the license last?"
vs. how long freedom lasts under truly free distros like Debian
Just because something is "debian based" doesn't mean it carries the same philosophy as Debian intact.
I'd rather be free than limited.
That's why I salute free distributions such as Debian, Ubuntu, and others.
With Linspire you use Click N Run still, right? Which means you have to pay for software, right?
So if I give away a BBQ grill for free, people still have to pay for the food,
vs. free distributions with free updates/software like Debian/Ubuntu and others offer which is like getting a BBQ grill for free, with all the free food for free for life.
Beware the word free, especially if it includes other descriptive words such as "limited"
From the top: "The United States Copyright Office asks whether you would have any problem if you were required to use Microsoft Internet Explorer in order to"
IMO We shouldn't be required to use Microsoft anything! IMO Once we are required to depend upon one company's A for B, the slippery slope will have been put down for all to slide down.
All of this won't matter in a few years, however, because by then the distracted masses will have accepted the mandatory RFID microchip implants in every living thing (required!) and we will all be enslaved as we're forced to pledge the M$ flag.
Money talks, right? Look how beautifully it's talked to some open source people into their new found employment with M$.
IMO I could see M$ buying out Linspire in the future once Linspire is firmly entrenched on desktops in schools, universities, businesses, etc. Look at the sweet Click And Pay, oops, I mean Click And Run software that could easily work in M$ favor if they were to buy up Linspire.
Stranger things have happened.
"We could be pets, we could be food, but all we really are is livestock." - They Live
Plenty of Bible thumpers sharing their quotes, I had to share this one from an equally if not even more prophetic film than any Bible based film I've seen, 'They Live' should be MANDATORY watching for anyone in today's world.
Obey, Sleep, Consume.
The livestock are but a sleeping process in a loop, and they like it.
Of course since the fundies have fucked my karma up in the past, no one will likely be able to see this since my posts are now all negative rated by default, thanks Jesus lovers!

If so, then meh.
I find it fascinating that I'm modded TROLL or FLAMEBAIT for a few true but amusing comments, and yet my helpful and interesting comments receive no positive OR negative effect whatsoever. That's just GAY.
Mod parent up!
In addition, one doesn't have to manually add urls to the host file when such gems like this hosts file already exist, a simple cut and paste is all you need. I don't need extensions, I just use that hosts file and update as needed (it works on Linux and Windows) and it blocks 99% of the ads on the net that I've seen in my surfing.
I think the reason many of us are depressed/over stressed is because all of the visual advertising that our mind retains in constant bombardments.
Advertisers? Talk to the host file hand.
"Has anyone tried Nvu? I never heard about it until today. If it works, it seems like a great program">
I've been using Nvu for awhile now. It's not a version 1.x release yet so expect some bugs. Thankfully, there's an official Nvu forum for discussion & reporting of bugs.
I've found it more enjoyable to use than Mozilla's Composer but again, there's still some bugs but most of them aren't too annoying and one can carry out their work within Nvu without much trouble.
I look forward to the 1.x releases, it's a very nice little program and I can't wait for it to mature.

Maybe it's just for attention? If so, it worked!
I wonder if this will fall under a M$ patent? After all, it starts with G! So does Gates!

Take comfort, most Baptists are first in line. :)
