I had to document a "crucial app" for my boss's boss that my team had written. As a test and hoping I could use the Mea Culpa defense if I was caught I wrote 5 pages and for the rest as the instructions for the game Railroad Tycoon. I later recieved an "attaboy" for getting my work in so quickly.

This not true. They are using remote controled Switch engines that are confined to yards. There is a human in control of the engine at all times. As a railroader and geek both I can tell you that no computer, no matter how well programmed can handle the infinite different situations that can occur on a working freight railroad on a daily basis.

  9. Why do we pay these people? on It's Not TV, It's MythTV · · Score: 1

I find the whole idea that we should pay people ungodly sums of money for pretending to be other people laughable. Why should an actor get 1 million plus an episode is beyond me. They have a job just like me, now I'm not an actor but quite frankly which is harder, reading lines from a page that someone else wrote, or using your hands and your mind to create something? Let the flaming begin...

  12. I'm not so sure.... on Has The "Technology Bounceback" Begun? · · Score: 5, Insightful

that the "bounceback" is begining. I know many individuals who have no intrest in buying new tech products. They are quite happy with the last generation and see no reason to upgrade yet. Just because there is a new product does not mean that people will buy it.

  13. Why? on The Future of the P.C. · · Score: 1

While on one hand I am horrified by the idea of a device recording everymove I make, every conversation I have, and would not use a device of this nature of own free will, I do see some use for these devices. I see life recording technology as usefull for those affected by alzheimer's, as a sort of reminder system, queing them in as to who people they are interacting with are, or reminding them to take medication. As for myself, as long as my God given memory works, I see no need to upgrade.
