The article doesn't quite say coffee is good for you. All it says is "Americans get more of their antioxidants from coffee than any other dietary source. Nothing else comes close,"
The real Slashdot headline should've been "Americans don't eat enough fruits/vegetables". but that wouldn't have been sensational enough.
I just don't care for Hillary as a person. Not that shes any worse than other politicians, something about her just gets to me. and the fact that her running for president in '08 almost ensures a Republican victory. what a bitch
mod parent up!!
The religious right is the least of our problems. Terrible schools and terrible parents are much more of a worry. Its easier to blame it on Bush and the Christian right than to get to the heart of the problem.
I completely agree. Being inundated with violent behavior through TV/video games could definatly increase violent thoughts. But until there is some link between video games and an increase in actual violence, I could care less.
I always thought the easy availability of satelite images of military bases was kind of odd. While no timely information about force strength etc can be gleaned from terraserver, a lot of valuable information can be found there. For example there are very detailed pictures of nuclear sites (PANTEX, Savannah River, etc) which could be used to analyze layout and security.
due to the pressures involved in maintaining the vacuum inside a large CRT set, the largest standard CRTs you can find are usually 36"-42". They get exponentially heavier as they get larger.
because its time to dive into the deep web. Projects like this are the key to unlocking the vast stores of important which are currently not readiy accessed online. Personally I'd like to see a Google-run free access Lexis-Nexus project.
I'm sure ESPN had a chance to match or outbid EA, the NFL will always go tot he highest bidder. EA didn't unilaterally obtain a monopoly, it was essentially ceded to them.
