  1. Re:Former EA Employees? on Electronic Arts Facing Possible Class Action Lawsuit · · Score: 2, Insightful

Well I'm glad someone spoke out for management!

I think you're a little off on what they do though ..

I've had really good managers, had really bad (and I mean REALLY bad) managers, and I've even been a manager a few times..

Speaking from my experience managers do not and should not treat employees as customers .. wtf? Customers? No. A manager treats his employees like soldiers working under his command.

It's their job to organize tasks and projects, find the strengths and weaknesses of all his employees, and assign people to appropriate challenges.

A good manager will challenge you, but not burden you and if done right, proper management can not only keep morale high, but should also keep a constant state of progression in the team.

50 Engineers? Who the hell needs 50 engineers to develop or expand features to an existing embedded os? That's freaking rediculous.
Rethink your numbers buddy.. it'd be closer to 3-10 engineers at a maximum...

And if you can show me an engineer that will work for $10K a year, I'll show you someone that doesn't know what the ls command does.
Kids freash out of college won't take a job for $10K dude! That's like, below poverty level.. for a highly technical field...

Why do people just say whatever they feel like without putting thought into it? .. Drives me nuts...

I see the point that people should stop whining .. after all it's just a game, and if you're playing a female character in ancient egypt, you run the risk of falling victem to sexism... Duh.

On the other hand... it is just a game. It is meant for entertainment... if something in a game directly becomes an obstacle of enjoyment, isn't that a game design flaw, and not a "feature" ?

One thing I will say: I like how the owner is sticking to his guns. He obviously has a "fuck em" vision where he sees this game as having negative experiences being part of the overall experience... I kind of dig that.

    Wow.
Apparently you haven't read the (limited) info Sony has released on the game!

EQ2 will NOT just be EQ. It has a whole slew of features which will fix problems and enhance gameplay not only from EQ1 but EVERY MMO out there so far ...
Fixed Battles is as far as I know an original idea.
Instancing dungeons, although done in a couple other MMO's (COH comes to mind [what a horrible game!]) will be a fantastic feature as well.

Not to mention that EQ1 is still the best MMORPG game out there ...

Check your facts before you run your mouth please.

It's not stupid if it's an opinion, and if your opinion puts people down.. keep it to yourself... Well unless it's funny.. then it's ok ;-)

And just for the record.. Microsoft does suck. If you don't think so, you need to read more, and use their software more.

Because one of the HUGE drawbacks of mozilla is it's rediculously bloated interface.

    Um.. What about galeon?
I've been using galeon for a long time now, and it's fast, sleek, stripped down, runs better and the interface works better than mozilla AND Firefox.

I'm stuck using firefox until my workstation comes in at work, and firefox doesn't seem to bad, but it has some interface issues.

Galeon by far has been the best experience I've had with a browser.

As for the web wars.. as a web developer, I just want it to be over (and stay over).
I prefer (by far) Mozilla compliant browers, but if IE won, then let them win. Yeah they had no honor in their victory, and they cheated, lied and used really bullshit tactics to win.. believe me I did my share of bitching, and continue bitching about microsoft on a daily basis, but cmon...

I've had some issues with spyware and have been directed by a windwos admin friend of mine to a particular piece of software which I've been using for a long time and which I like a lot...

It's called ad-aware made by lavasoft (lavasoftusa.com) and works really well.
The personal edition is free (woo Whoo!!).
Be sure to download the latest definition file after you install the program! (It checks for you)..

    Hope this helps man.
