I was disappointed that development of Milkdrop had died two years ago. At least now it will be able to be under development again, which is a good thing considering it's my favourite vis and the favourite vis of all of my friends nerdy enough to know what a vis is (and aware that Winamp actually has preferences to change it). I remember when I first started using it my computer was a Pentium 233 with 64MB of RAM, but since I had a 3D graphics card it ran at a reasonable framerate and I have been hooked since. It especially complements Pink Floyd's DSotM, but now I'm getting too offtopic:P
Yahoo is filled to the brim with flash and java ads, and its services are, for the most part, slow. On top of that, they aren't really doing anything impressive. They ruined Launch. Their search technology relied on Google technology until what? A year ago? And it isn't even that good now. At times I know they try, but I really don't think they can compare to Google at the rate they're going.
The only thing I use Yahoo for now is its movie database as I can rate, compose lists, and review (similar to the reasons I liked Launch before Yahoo took over). If Google started offering this I'd switch in a heartbeat. I also use groups for one specific group, stjohnsfreecycle, because I don't have a choice there.
But shouldn't the software include a way to generate a.htaccess file at least? Or warn the user that if they don't create a.htaccess file that anyone can view their camera's output?
I'd like to append that even some programs on CBC televsion don't have commercial breaks, one actually being ZeD. Street Cents has commercials in the eight minutes following the show, but I personally prefer that to commecial breaks throughout.
...urges users not to download.hlp files from email attachments.
Yet people will continue opening strange attachments. I hardly blame Microsoft for this with people uneducated enough to open a.hlp file attachment, or any random attachment that reaches their inbox. Merry Christmas, learn how to use the technology you spend your cash on, etc. Love Wilson.
I also do this a lot for people and tell them to run the apps once every one or two weeks, and sometimes when I go back to their house sometime later I discover they haven't been using the anti-spyware programs, so I run another check with the same results as the last. It appears many non-techies are afraid to get rid of things, even if they are bad, as they fear it will screw up their computer somehow. Either this, or they think running a scan once will fix things permanently. My girlfriend is tryng Firefox now, but there's very little chance her sister will want to try something new. Her parents use Ad-Aware (but I couldn't get it to initialize), I installed Spybot and it found 79 objects (apparently they haven't run Ad-Aware in a while).
It's crazy how many visitors to a site I moderate have "FUNWEBPRODUCTS" in their user agent string, too.
Just a note, there is now a Winamp plugin (53 user reviews, majority positive) to interface with the iPod. Still not the same as the player being recognized as an external USB drive and copying files to it, but this caters to the pro-Winamp non-iTunes users.

I just really don't see how Yahoo is up to par.
But studies show that people are less likely to die by a makeshift flame thrower aimed at their face in a commercial airline than by lung cancer ;P
Humans don't need alcohol to maintain homoeostasis.
Dumbass.
It's not perfect. I'd say it's really good, but not perfect. I don't think it's ideal for this person's applications either.

Live with the service you already have, or move here if you want the cheaper rate that badly.
