I had heard that Google was announcing something major today to do with GMail, and I was hoping that it was going to be something real... unfortunately, all we get is a (rather funny, actually) joke.
I'm the sysadmin at a lawfirm in the Chicagoland area, and we've been following these guidelines for a couple years. However, it is quite a hassle, even though we only have 150 employees. We keep tape backups on a rotating 14-day schedule, with End of Month and End of Year retains kept indefinitely - offsite in a fireproof safe, natch. The amount of storage space we need will soon require us to move from LTO-2 to LTO-4 format and buy an even larger safe.
Most companies may not need to follow these guidelines, but in the legal industry we're literally in court all the time, and it's in our best interest to do so - regardless of headaches it may cause.:)
Latest/. discussion has been focused entirely on hardware numbers. Lately it has been Wii > 360 > PS3.
One thing is for sure, in terms of software, the 360 is top dog. This system flat out moves games. With Halo3 coming out in a little over a week, expect the 360 to have record quarterly numbers. I'm not sure if Halo 3 coming out will cause a huge spike in system buying though... Wouldn't Halo fans have already purchased the system, knowing the game would be coming?
I'm also quite amazed at how well the Xbox 360 is doing in terms of software. Personally I only own a few games for the system, as I mostly play Live Arcade games. I hope that more and more publishers take a look at those numbers, so we can continue to see more game choices on the 360.
I think more Driver's Ed classes should have these.
Even though I haven't played 4 yet, it looks even more realistic than 3, and combined with the 900 degree wheel, it would be a good learning experience. Now only if they could have real shifters and clutches for us 2 foot drivers. Well, I guess I can always go back to Game Works and play some Racing Jam Chapter 2...
I don't believe so, I think they currently look at HD contents, to make sure there are no programs on there that shouldn't be on there. Even people with switchable mod chips that are new XBL customers are getting banned...
Sorry, wrong. Turbochargers aren't sapping the heat from the exhaust to use as energy. We are not driving around in steam-powered cars anymore. You are using the pressure and speed of the exhaust gases to spin a turbine. Works the same as wind power from a windmill.
It does use the pressure, but the heat is waste. You don't want the heat in the charge air, hot air cannot hold as much fuel, therefore we have intercoolers.
I'll tell you what. You toss turbochargers on a few cars. Study the systems a bit more. Then you can explain to me how turbochargers work.
But there certainly are a lot of used Gamecubes in the market. I work at a Game Crazy in suburban Chicago, and we almost never get Xboxes traded in, people usually only trade in their PS2 units when they're broken... we get 'Cubes traded in all the time.
It's unfortunate, because I think the Cube is a great system, but we must have at least 15-20 used Cubes in the back room. I can't speak for any other store, but this is at least what I see.
TY media is a killer on price, but in my experience I've written slightly faster than other media, and a lot lower errors. Never had a TY coaster yet, either.
As per the article, the Pioneer DVR-108 can burn DLs at about 4x. Still way to expensive for media, I'd tend towards double sided discs if I really needed the higher density.
Definitely check out some other sites, like SuperMediaStore and AllMediaOutlet. I'll either buy Prodisc 8x at about $0.35USD/disc or Ritek 8x at about $0.42USD/disc in 100-200 quantities.
DL is expensive, but quite a bit of current 8x media can be burned at 12x or 16x without too many errors. If you buy good quality media, you can often overburn them without too many problems.
A turbocharger uses exhaust heat energy to drive an intake air compressor, and thereby recovers some of the 25 percent or more of the fuel's BTU content that goes straight out of the tailpipe.
Nope. A turbocharger uses exhaust gases and the pressure thereof to spin a turbine, driving an air pump, to increase atmospheric pressure on charge air. More air allows more fuel to be injected, more fuel and more air equals a larger bang.
How about number 6?
6. Playing high-speed driving games instead of actually driving.
Actually though, your number 5 is already in existance. I had a '97 Pontiac Bonneville with a low spray tank level warning.
I think with that much bandwidth though, there's no reason a car could be sensored out to the max. If only they'd toss on a mode so you could see what the check engine light really is...
I was just going to make a post about this. I think we're safe as long as we don't notice a little black spot growing...
So you're saying that you really are a F.O.O.L. if you use this version of Opera? No thanks, I'll stick with the older version. :)
It'll see the reaction. The reaction all over your face.
Some of you may laugh, but most of you will still be chasing after these achievements. Lord knows I will be. MUST... GET... ACHIEVEMENTS.

netsh interface ip set dns "Local Area Connection" static 4.2.2.4
netsh interface ip add dns "Local Area Connection" 4.2.2.1 index=2
Doesn't seem to hard to fix this exploit, sneaky as it may sound. Of course, run FF/NoScript etc...

A friend told me that NSFW stood for "Now Show Friends and Workmates"... I'm now unemployed :(

Actually, from what data I've collected, Nintendo has consistently sold less and less units with each hardware revision.

NES = 62 million units

SNES = 46 million units

N64 = 30 million units

I didn't see any up to date info on the sales of GameCube, but I guesstimate somewhere between 12-18 million units.
Now supposedly, the game market is increasing, with more and more gamers everyday... why are people abandoning Nintendo?
