I'm not an American, you insensitive clod!
But you do have a point. In 1812 the US invaded my country. Only now with the combined powers of Alex Trebeck and Michael J. Fox can we keep America at bay.
The Chinese are anti-social people and are prone to brutality.
I think you are confusing them with the Germans, who are a reclusive, friendly people, rarely emerging from their home nation, and only then to spread love and goodwill.
Well are you volunteering to drive your station wagon across America to make sure everyone can have access to 25GB/s or whatever it is carrying tapes around?
Because I hate dealing with old people who know nothing about the internet.
According to a documentary I saw recently, in the not too distant future the entire world will be hooked up to some sort of large interconnected network of humans from birth, controlled by some robots or something.
I think in parts II and III of the film series, the documentary maker goes more in depth about how a small bunch of people get all cranky and get everyone else cut off from the network. Probably overused their bandwidth or something.
Now I replying to one's own message makes a fool out of the poster. However, I should point out that as I was attempting to insult the stereotyped average American, I made a grave mistake on my calculations.
It is only 2,302.9744 FBF/h.
Or for the Canadian standard, 2,092.704 FBF/h (seeing as we have 110 yard playing fields, not 100).

230,197.44 Football Fields per hour! Note - American Unit Football Fields (why won't they switch over to the world football standard!)
Well what do you want them to use, 12" cast iron records? Everything else is going to be destructible by an accident.
I think your argument might have more weight if the companies involved (and us on slashdot) were primarily from China.
I think we all are dying to know how many Libraries of Congress this thing can hold.
