    Why is my website so slow now. It worked really great before, but now that I have more than 12 widgets and 5 customers it's getting really slow. I also have these really odd bugs and crashes that I don't know about until some piece of rarely executed code gets executed and some things don't work like I expect them to, especially when I pass a Customer object to a function that expects a Widget...

    I would prefer a reasonable language where space/tab confusions don't turn into weird, hard to debug issues. Has a compiler that confirms the code is used correctly before using it and doesn't automatically assume things that might or might not be correct -- should "10" + "15" == "1015" or should it be 25?

    Well, a bunch of people wrote a bunch of parts of a manuscript based on stories passed down for a couple of thousand years, which was then gathered together by a bunch of other people over the course of several hundred years to produce a book. Apparently that is all the evidence they need to prove everything.

    Also, anything not in said book can not exist as that book is the sole source of truth in the universe!

    WheezyJoe is completely uninformed! "employees of foreign-based consulting companies" and "U.S. tech workers are required to train their replacements" are definitely NOT twists, they are standard procedures for utilizing H1B "resources".

    I beg to differ. My daughter has learned a great deal so far in her Kindergarten class including reading & basic math (numbers & addition) and her communications skills have greatly improved. She most definitely would not of learned that solely by watching Sesame Street.

    Those new trainees should have no problems finding jobs, all they have to do is move to India or China. And if they become nationalized citizens there, they might even be able to come back as an H1B!

    It is a voluntary communal effort, which is why Mr. Stenn is the only one maintaining it as he is only only one who volunteered to be full-time.

    You neglected to account for tax. You also ignore transportation costs as you assertion that "A person in that situation would not have a car or transit pass" would also mean that a person in that situation would have no job in many areas, especially rural ones.

    Additionally, in some areas, such as where I live in the Metro Detroit area, not having a car pretty much guarantees not having a job, even though there is a guy here that walks 21 miles to work, each way, every day, not many are able to do that year after year.

    Here is a more appropriate car related comparison to the study in question: We studied rebuilding automobiles and found that after a complete overhaul of a 2012 Chevy with 30K miles that it did not improve any aspects of it...

    Your definitions are off, let me fix them for you:
    A typical Java client is one that needs to have their applications work correctly.
    A Node.js programmer works for a company that is OK if their applications don't work as long as they are flashy.

    80K in a state where the cost of living is 40K/year is not comparable to 80K in a state where the cost of living is >120K/year.

    Except that H1B visa holders are not eligible to vote. Neither are any other immigrants until they obtain citizenship, which takes longer than most politicians attention spans.

    Yes, just like High-School, Middle School, Elementary School... Except that you have to get good grades to go on to Community College unless you foot the bill yourself. This would be a very good thing.
