I'm confused? The OP repeatedly refers to himself as a unix "fan". Clearly he doesn't intend the term as an insult. Unless you think the OP is some sort of "dirt-eating Tauron" himself. I think you're just trying to create a fight no one was looking for.

Heck they even stock 2600 which is essentially a whole magazine of such articles.

  3. Unlikely on Will Next-Gen Consoles Kill Off PC Gaming? · · Score: 1

PC gaming will certainly never die it may just evolve away from the types of games that play best in a console environment. But I don't think I'm alone in believing that for a game like DOOM or Half-life there is no better controller than a keyboard and mouse and I guarantee these games look better at 1024x768 than they do on the 800x600 most televisons are limited to. Don't get me wrong I love my gamecube and PS2 but I still boot my PC to windows to play KOTOR, CIV, and HL2.

Perhaps all these Zombie comps should be put to good use. Who cares if people don't want to participate in grid computing ... they can be forced!

However one very rarely hears about them returning the money they received when they sold the rights.

Yeah give them their money back ... that'll teach them. Just the lesson producers need to learn, "If we make the movie bad enough the author will give us back the money we paid her for the rights"

  6. Future Generations on Ask Gabe and Tycho of Penny Arcade · · Score: 2, Insightful

Now that the first generation of gamers as we know them are starting to have children how do you think future generations will be affected by having "gamers" as parents?

For example will it be as simple as:
"Dad I thought the PS5 was a gift for me?!?"
    or as strange as:
"Who would want to play video games? That's something my parents would want to do.
