You exagerate quite a bit. This to me seems to be the most stable version I've seen so far. As for the service. I sent a question and got an answer about 10 minutes later, lucky I guess but it put me in a good mood since the problem was fixed.
Take this case A guy has met a girl he likes a lot and they are in the bed about to do some interesting exercise. He want to complement her but doesn't speak a word of english. using his little translater he enters : "T'as un beau corps"
The translater says : "You have a beautiful corpse"
I've used Borland's stuff since the early days of Turbo Pascal for CPM/80 and I've always had great support from them. Borland C++ 3.1 or 3.0 are still very valuable tools for embedded environment. I used it for the V25 and V35 and plan on using it for the 80C186 series. Coupled with Borland's remote debugger this is a fantastic tool. It is not because that you were impotent that it should have affected the rest of us. I bailed out after Borland abandonned OS/2.
Speak for yourself. There are many of us who refuse to port software to Linux because it is too much work. Our bread and butter is on winblows whether or not we like it.
The tools on Linux for the most part require that we release the source code which is completely out of the questions.
I installed this and shit.... It has been removed not very long after the large vocabulary of swears that had to used. What a bloated piece of shit! I can say the X version is better than the console version but that's about it.
I prefer a good IDE like Borland's idea. Actually I would love an IDE absolutely identical to that of Borland C++ 3.1 for DOS.
I'd live with the one like on winblows as a second choice.
Rhide is too unstable folks, not a valid choice, it won't even compile under SuSE 6.1 anyhow. It kept crashing when I used in with Slackware, Redhat 4.2, 5.1 and 5.2
Borland dropped support for OS/2 for political reasons. Borland's bread and butter lies with winblows and pissing off Microsoft by releasing an OS/2 version didn't help them getting support.
Now is a different world with the government's lawsuit.
>.they allow GUI Apps to be built for Linux using Qt or Java, depending on the *Builder product
If I buy a commercial compiler it is because I want to be free to sell my code without having to reveal my source code to the world.
Borland is well aware of our needs as software developpers and would not tie us to libraries that we can't use without either giving all the source away or paying huge prices for a license.
As for using QT if you wish I fail to see why you couldn't do it. With Borland C++ I've always bought the source code of the libraries. Just rewrite the libraries to suit your needs.
Not everyone is well versed in the English language so I wouldn't see that as an indication to anything. As for the insults, it was provoked and you should see it as just another flame war. To say that only Linux users will respond this way is knowing little of human nature. When obvious lies are brought up some people will respond and some won't. These people said things that many of us felt like saying but chose not to.
Typical flash which I use at work is about 10k write. This is probably a moronic idea from some graduate from a Dogbert management school. They'd have to put the message on the hard disk but it'd be interesting to see how they'd write on an hopfs or ext2 partition since those morons probably think that winblows is the only thing that exists.
I don't think Microsoft will change much at Borland.
As a long time supporter of Borland I think I'm gonna barf...

Linux 2.2 DoS Attack

I don't know if it was a crash attack but over the memorial day weekend I was doing some work on NT and listening to my favorite Cajun radio shows and two times during the day I lost the connection, the modem never went off and I could no longer use the modem until I rebooted. The winsock was completely crashed, killing the programs didn't do anything. A complete reboot was the only solution. At this point I have no idea how to solve this problem. Under Linux, as I can see a bug is found out quickly and I just have to recompile and voilà.
Judging from Mandrake 5.3 I would see it as RedHat with some updates. There was a problem with Mandrake 5.3 in regards to Doom, the weapons were invisible and it would crash regularly. Something was messed up bad in the video on the console. On the other hand the support of KDE wasn't too bad. Since I now have a stable gnome I would see little use for that one.
If the bug about doom and perhaps other console applications isn't brought back with Mandrake 6.0 I would say it would be better than RedHat 6.0, being a cheap upgrade from RedHat.
Cheapbytes should have it shortly.
There was another bug which would force the num lock on. Fortunately that bug can be fixed by removing some offending lines in /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit. There're easy to spot, something to do with led. I'm sure this bug will be there again in the new release.
Real Player always has had in the past both a tar.gz version and a.rpm version.
The rpm Version 5 version would core dump on me while the tar.gz file would not.
With the G2 version I didn't have to hunt for a tar.gz version (libc5 instead of glibc2) because the rpm version work perfectly except that I can save a setting as I can do on winblows.
I use 4-Front sound software though. Perhaps the new screwed up sound support in the new kernel has more to do than anything else about the core dumps, not to say that the combination with glibc2-1 doesn't contribute to it.
As for your comment about dope, I'm sure you know what to do with it or should I be more specific?
Can you keep it from installing this crap and install Gnome instead?
I left slackware a while ago because of glibc2 but with them starting to support it I may have to go back again. On the other hand this forcing of KDE would be to hard to swallow.

A lot of people are not buying either Nitendo or playstation for games and their game market is slowing being taken over by PCs. Check the sales of computer games and you will be very surprised. Because of the growing interest in the internet more and more people are having computers in the house. Often people choose between a computer and a nitendo game machine. Either one work if your sound card is setup right.

The language isn't that bad.
"Je suis en beau joual vert" (I'm pissed off)
to "I'm in nice green horse"
"A sweepstake" to "Un steak balayé"
"balayé" like with a broom.
"Vaincu" (defeated) to "Twenty asses"
"Harry" to "Poilu" (meaning hairy)
"Racing fans" to "Eventails de course"
Eventail is that fan with blades to cool you off.
"Washington Post" to "Le poteau de Washington"
poteau like in telephone post.
"Micro Soft" to "Chiquito Blando"

In French corps translate to body and corpse.

:"He's masturbating"
that doesn't screw up. I bet that even this one
can make ridiculous translations.
Enter "Washington Post" at
http://babelfish.altavista.com
and get it to translate in French.
The translation is "Le poteau de Washington"
poteau like in electrical post or fence post.
Some other translation I've heard before :
"Eventail de course" for "Racing fans"
Eventail is a fan allright but
"He's shaking it" ---> "Il se branle"
A french would hear
