Then you've never traveled on any interstates around a major city. All the interstates around where I live (Chicago) have a 55mph limit. People routinely do 80-85 and so should you if you want to avoid being rammed off the road.

  3. the validity of comparing I.Q. tests across time on Loss of Applied IQ Among UK Youth? · · Score: 1

I think that the problem isn't that kids are getting dumber, but rather the I.Q. test is becoming outdated. The methods and practices of todays teachers are much different than they were even 20 years ago. Todays kids are learning to think in a different manner than they have in the past. Many people mistake the I.Q. test as the definitive measurement of intelligence, but what most psychologists define intelligence as is how well someone scores on the I.Q. test. The only thing the test can tell you is how good you are at taking the test, so any collective rise and fall of average I.Q. scores in a region or across the globe cannot be attributed to the worlds intelligence falling.

A friend of mine got that because they couldn't stop when it was icy. Seems like a ticket for getting into an accident to me.

this has happened to me before... sort of. a few years ago when i was 16 or so, i knew i was going to be bored later in the day at school, so i setup my webcam to record movement with a copy of meloris melcam i downloaded off the internet. I didn't notice anything wrong while I was watching it at school, but when I returned to my room I noticed I was missing about $50. The maids that my mom hired for that day had just come to our house, so I suspected them. I checked the video that my program had saved on my HD and there they were. They went and found my wallet which was in my dresser and removed the $50 I had been saving, right in front of the camera. Apparently they arent the brightest of people as the camera was clearly visible and my computer isnt too much quieter than a jet.

Recently, my psychology professor has been talking about how eyewitnesses are unreliable. Most people don't pay attention to or remember much of what happens in a crime. Most of the people who claim to remember what someone looks like or what someone was wearing really only knows part of what they were wearing or what they looked like and is filling in the missing information with things that sound logical. This is called confabulation. If anyone remembers a while back Oprah did a show about eyewitness testimony and how unreliable it is.
