I've certainly noticed it's improved my memory and allowed me to become more adept at finding my way around new places. Expansive games like GTA: SA have allowed me to learn locations & glean directions with just a cusory glance at a map. Thanks videogames!
76.5% (159 million) of Americans identify themselves as Christian. This is a major slide from 86.2% in 1990. Identification with Christianity has suffered a loss of 9.7 percentage points in 11 years -- about 0.9 percentage points per year. This decline is identical to that observed in Canada between 1981 and 2001. If this trend continues, then by about the year 2042, non-Christians will outnumber the Christians in the U.S.
It's not all about the pay, last week my gramps called me to tell me about a grinding noise he keeps hearing, I told him to take it over to the shop to find out if it's a fan or the hard drive dying. The shop holds it for 4 days, calls gramps back telling him they need to reformat the hard drive for $130 because windows had become corrupted and was making the hard drive squeal. I called them up asking what the SMART status was, and they didn't know what that meant.
I've run into this many times, it's as bad as the car repair scams you see on 60 minutes.
Not only displays, what I'd love is to be able to plug any peripheral in and have it start working in a "smart" default way, but then allow all the configurability we've come to love from linux.
I've been using linux on the desktop for the past few years, and recently had the occasion to use a new Windows XP based Dell box.
I plugged in a multi-function fax that's easily 8 - 10 years old, and was able to print from it without having to click a single thing to install and configure it. Same with a joystick, now I must say that that sums up the experience I had with that XP computer, but I am still green with envy as I sit here click click clicking and type type typing just to configure cups to work with my lexmark printer. Auto-configuration is a blessing.
This reminds me of a belief my mom held for the longest time. She believed that civilization had reached technological peaks in the past, but they built everything "au natural" so to speak.
Instead of just a wooden case, one of their computers would be entirely made of natural & biodegradable components, hence why we never find traces of their technology. It makes sense from a recyclability point of view if you think about it.
It may hurt the few it puts out of jobs in the short term, but IMO it more than makes up for it in long term gains in effeciency & technology advancement.
Seems to me the way the Ring nebula looks could be that it's nearly spherical in shape. Think about when you look at a light shining through a balloon, it looks very similar.

<Stormrider> I should bomb something
<Stormrider>...and it's off the cuff remarks like that that are the reason I don't log chats
<Stormrider> Just in case the FBI ever needs anything on me
<Elzie_Ann> I'm sure they can just get it from someone who DOES log chats.

One thing I've noticed is the more fans your computer has the more often you end up needing to replace components. I've had 2 high-end video cards fry themselves due to the bearings in the fans wearing out.
Now I run a box practically devoid of fans and it's been running great for 4 years & counting.

Gotta love it when people group good ol' harmless nekkid fun with criminal activities & spam.

Bah, Tesla did it ages ago.

..to get their name in the news. Wouldn't be surprised if they had the press releases sent out before drawing up any claims.

They have those?
