That is also the exact same window used in Firefox, thus, I doubt they stole it, they adopted it from Firefox. You do need SOME WAY to control the toolbar, just because two apps use the same doesn't make it 'cribbed'.

Of course, I don't want to start a fight, so I'll back out now. :-)

The bit-torrent community is not dead, it is just changing, every time new technology comes out all the warez kiddies grab it up immediately and try to apply it to distributing their warez, clearly, BitTorrent is an amazingly well-designed, well-thought of protocol, and something we clearly needed with all the people starting their own websites, or wanting to distribute large files.

Of course, believe it or not, I also believe in adware, I believe to make movie (tv)/music distribution legal, all the clients to download them should be adwared, then using the money made from the ads, pay the record companies (just like TV and radio works). I think that is the ultimate solution. Discuss?

Firefox will not fizzle out as long as the developers keep on their toes and change. If you do not innovate you lose, we are in the technology world now, innovation is everything, see Google? Look how fast they became successful, and for what? Innovation. Microsoft, same thing: Innovation.

The FF devs need to balance innovation with security (something, I must say, Google does perfectly and Microsoft fails at) because that is Firefox's strong promotional point: Security, and because innovation is simply key to the tech world.

All I can say is, keep on promoting Firefox, donate, support them, and most of all, REPORT BUGS... Granted, they get a sh*t load of bug reports, so, only report the good/not already reported ones.

Definately, would you save an image as a JPEG if GIF (okay, fine PNG you silly copyright open-source crappy advocates) is around? Lossless compression for audio is no where near what lossy compression is. Clearly, with audio, if you cannot tell the difference between piece A and B (compressed) then if you aren't doing development, there is no big deal. But with hard-drives getting so big and cheap, we might as well go for the best quality possible.

Aha! Correct, you just hit the nerve of many Slashdotters, however, you are not completely right,

Maybe with Linux, but definately not with Firefox, critical/security-related bugs are dealt with quickly, and on a regular basis, granted, some seemingly critical Firefox bugs have sat in Bugzilla for a LONG time without being fixed, that is not the case with most of them, I am quite willing to say: Firefox has LESS bugs then Internet Explorer, even if it would appear the lack of problems comes from the fact Firefox is less used, I believe that is not the whole case.
