    Sorry, but no it won't. Let me ask you a question: How many robots do you own that do things for you?

    My point is that these will be owned by big companies with the capital to buy and develop them. Then they will just rule the world even more. This is something that really scares me. Someday robots will be able to do so much that the big corporations won't need us anymore.

    For newbs like yourself (I'm not saying this in an offensive way) I would recommend KDE.

    Or try Fluxbox if you have an older comp, but it's not very similar to Windows.

    Slate is completely journalistically independant of their owner, Microsoft. For instance, I distinctly remember them recommending Firefox.

    Then it is Logo, just with different syntax. What you have described in no way teaches java/C++/C#, it teaches you Ceebot, which you can then easily translate into a knowledge of Logo. penup() and pendown() have nothing to do with java/c++/c# except for the similar syntax.

    And syntax is probably about 1% of learning programming.

    The schools in my area are the same way. You can't assume that there are CS classes everywhere, because there just aren't.

    (There should be, obviously, but there aren't.)

    Enroll them in a class. If they have the money, it's the best way. Nothing beats a trained instructor

    While I commend the law and the government for doing their jobs, I don't think that it should be illegal for warez tu be distributed. Maybe I'm just too much of a commie, but I think that something should be freely redistributable if the people redistributing or receiving it don't put any additional burden on the company that manufactures it.

    But I still don't do it, because for moral reasons I follow the law whether I agree with it or not.
