no smart guy he is right co2 is harmless infact plants NEED C)2 you are thinking CO1 or more comonly carbon Monoxyide (mono=one=1 di=two=2) hence he is completely correct in stating that we could produce as much carbon dioxide(CO2) as we want infact everytime you exhale YOU create CO2
Servers are designed to run ALL the time thats why they have redundant powersupplies and hot swap hard drives and some even now have hot swap PCI slots, all so the server NEVER has to come down or is never brought down by a hardware failure except for system boards most of the servers I deal with have redundant everything so I would imagine its not supported because its supposed to acfcess the hard drives all the time and it is supposed to run at about 50% CPU usage all the time
Just my 2 bits
well right now HP puts 8 half height drives in a 2u rack configuration, so if you used a 42u rack you could conciveable run 168 computers in 1 rack , thats alot of computer in a 2 metre rack, plus it could double as a whole house heating solution:-)
I thnk the problem was that you expected another sixth sense , this is not that it is another movie , don't judge a movie by what the director or the actors did before, judge the movie by the movie and maybe you would have liked it more.
sorry to interupt , but if you look at Lotus notes for an Email server and database server DEFINATLY STAY AWAY FROM R5! it is one of the worste applications I have ever used , go with notes 4.5 or something there , that is a good application but for the love of pete say away from R5 trust me on this one

Well in case you were unaware retinitis pigmentosa is a genetic disease passed throug ussually the mother if I remember correctly so the prevention would have to be DNA testing

Andover and Slashdot are in an interesting position here , they can remove the offensive comments and all of the sudden be responsible for every comment EVER posted on slashdot and go out of buisness in a big hurry considering that the last time I looked commander taco has post close to 5000 articles , all of which have comments posted to them , so removing those comments is not an entirely good idea in my opinion, so what they will need to do to stay in business is figure out how they can keep the comments at whatever cost , because if they don't then you can bet they will lose this site forever and set a precedent that all content can be cencored and say good by to free speech
correct me if I am wrong but I would imagine that the engeniers would have left something along the lines of a air gap for security on this sat considering that from what I read they are using this just to test the feasability of this concept
I have been telling customer that this is happening with AOL v.5 for months along with all the other techs here, now only if people who use AOL read this article and say to them selves , "Gee I fond this act to be one that is imoral and wrong , I belive it is in my best interest and others to cancel AOL and start and account with the competitor" instead of saying "well if AOL will take over anyother connection then I might as well not fight it" , I Hate it when they do that
if you had read the original paper sent to the defendants you would have seen that at the end it states
"I hereby state, under penalty of perjury under the laws of New York and under the laws of the United States, that the information in this notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that this law firm is authorized to act on behalf of the owners of an exclusive rights which are being infringed as set out in this notification."
that is the reason the defendant added the threat of perjury at the end of the article.
Of course I have been wrong before so forgive me if I am now
I was thinking last night that this would be awsome for wearable computer , think about it, the proccessor only runs about 11 degrees farenheit warmer than my hot tub so that means that the case that you put the computer in would be enough to dissipate the heat and now I cold finnaly find a setup that would be much faster than a 486.
I personally like Mr. Katz and his writtings, the part that is amusing is that there are some many people here who seem to dislike him on a personal level and therefore they find it nessacary to blast him for his writing style, what they (the posters) don't realize is that they are still reading his articles and still looking at his views and ideas. so all the people who flame Katz need to realize that no matter what you post about him, he has already won whatever battle you are trying to start, so what I am basicly saying is, if you don't want to hear John Katz, DON'T READ HIS ARTICLES! or better yet write your own essay, get it submited, and see what happens, I would like to see what other people espesecialy those people who have blasted Katz for not being creative or using cliches, write a creative cliche free essay and make it interesting, then start complaing about how other people write essays,
I hate to burst your bubble but the point of moderation and reading at a cartain threshold *is* to improve the quality of the posts, I find it amusing when pople complain about the trolling and the other various dislikable posts when all they have to do is set there threshold to a =2, I have personaly only seen first post comments and other trolls when I am meta moderating , at that point I find them amusing and not anoying , anyway what I am trying to say is open your mind and realize the point of moderation and then all of a sudden , the discussion is a lot more sane.
I like keyboard Chords are good for keeping the people with mental problems (like most internet users , who have trouble comprehending what "right click" means)the point of chords it to help prevent these people from causing serious damage to there computers, (after all the E machines are fragile to begin with and any unneccacary killing of a proccess could cause the entire computer to burst into flames and probably burn the user as they sit infront of a flaming computer calling tech support instead of the fire department of getting a fire extiguisher) that is why CTRL-ALT-DEL is set in windows
linux is now much NUCH bigger than anyone EVER expected, as far as I know linus wrote the original code for selfish reasons, and now look at what it has become, this collection of ones and zeros has become more than just an operating system but a political and philisofical tool that has gone to where only Nixon had just a few short years ago.
Who would have ever though such a thing could happen??
Working for a smaller ISP , it is interesting to note that we can host 800 domains on one cyrix 233 machine that is running linux, and have an uptime of about six months and than or NT box which hosts considerably less domains is in need of a reboot about once a week, and requires that we run MUCH more expensive hardware to get similar results , as far as I am concerned linux is a much better performer, and on cheap hardware.
I would be willing to pay an extra few bucks for all the telco services and more for motion pictures if it meant that the goverment lost some of its power to bully anyone they want, image a country as it was intended to be, a restricted government and a free people imagine that

Just incase anyone wanted to know how to fix the problem , all you do is delete anything that says AOL in the network control panel in win 9x
