Like I said it's just the catalyst, it also shows that the firing was likely a knee-jerk reaction (which feeds into the rumor about the Jesse Jackson AMA) and demonstrated how Ellen Pao isn't fit for the role of interim CEO.
This latest issue with firing a beloved director (Victoria) was only the catalyst for the rage against Ellen Pao. She comes in as an interim CEO, brings a ton of baggage in the form of her life-long scam artist husband and her own false claims of gender discrimination, proceeds to enforce selective and personally-driven censorship, and then finally fires one of the most community involved employees of reddit. It doesn't help that the rumors over the cause of Victoria's firing was due to her refusing to delete legitimate questions during Jesse Jackson's AMA.
GoogleTechTalks had a thing on optimizing quantum computers with error correction algorithms. I think it might be related, but then again: quantum?

I remember when I purchased an Audigy 2 from creative and attempted to find the latest drivers online (like any sane person purchasing new hardware). I was shocked to learn that not only did creative not provide any sort of driver downloads for my sound card (at the time) that the forum mods actively forbid anyone from ripping their driver CD and posting it online. I inquired what would happen under a hypothetical situation where I lost my driver cd, I was told that I would have to go to the store I purchased the card from to see if they'd give me a new one.
This is just one more example of anti-consumer policy.
By these ISPs taking responsibility for the (pseudo) illegal activity happening on their network I can see this easily be pushed further and further to the point where the ISPs must play big brother on behalf of Governments and Corporations. For example now they are simply scanning for users using a specific P2P services and acting accordingly, but what will happen when Governments say ISPs should monitor for malicious hacking, fraud or illegal communications? The Safe Harbor provisions within the DMCA directly account for this and thus the reason for ISPs within the US not being held responsible for their users.
With Japanese ISPs setting a trend like this I can only see legal perceptions (which can affect future laws) change for the worse.
The game was discounted. Not by a whole lot but $10 discount should be the going rate.
The ads are realistically placed. Ads that fit the game and the style should be fine. For example if there's going to be a level in a movie theater, I don't see why there can't be posters in it.
The ads do not have extra factors that make them stand out. The textures can't be any higher resolution then the regular textures. There should be no extra ambient lighting for the posters.
But with the way the media industries like to screw everyone over, I doubt any of those are going to happen. They'll eventually start crying like the movie theater industry about why sales are going down. While everyone else knows it's because of the ads, the high expense, the shitty service and the unoriginal content.

I not only want access to a high quality MP3 I also want access to an uncompressed wave file so I can encode it to any bitrate and format I want. It's not like it's going to be a huge bandwidth hit because only a very small amount of people care for the wave file, but those who want their Ogg Vorbis or lossless compression can now do it themselves without the quality loss of the MP3 format.
It may sound like a lot but think of it. If you're forking over cash for the right to download music don't you want something that's the same as the music you'd find on a physical CD? But let's be realistic, this is never going to happen and that's why I'm never going to buy music this way.
I use LiveCDs quite a bit but almost strictly for repair or support of an existing system. I will often find myself needing to boot up a LiveCD in order to bring peace back to the troubled partition.
On another note I specifically find the lightweight LiveCD Slax to be one of the best. A really nice feature it has is if you have at least 256MB of RAM you're able to load the entire CD into the RAM Disk and effectively run it without a CD.
This obviously wouldn't have happened if we banned violent movies and movie depicting dangerous situations. Star Wars possessed these young souls and forced them to do this.
This objective is only second to banning violent video games in order to protect the sanctity of Chirstian America!

Because we all need firm grasps on liquids!
Just after hell froze over and ATI released new video drivers for Linux specifically supporting 2.6.11, 2.6.12 gets released.
Let me start off the collective "ARRGGGHHH!"
