So that fact that a bunch of linux distro's being released as.torrent links means nothing, eh?
Where did I say that?
Just because some people are using BitTorrent to violate copyrights does not mean it has no legitimate use.
You know what primarily means? You might want to check your dictionary. Or here, I'll help you.
Primarily [adv] for the most part; "he is mainly interested in butterflies"
Hence, the primary use for bittorrent is currently pirating. Yes, there are other uses, but they're not as popular.
I can get a shiny new (legal).iso image in far less time over torrent then I can over an http download, in almost every case. Congrats. I use it for legal means too. But that doesn't mean I ignore the fact that most people don't.
It is the person who misuses it, not the tool, that's the problem. Exactly, so addressing the reason that people misuse a creation of his is a perfectly good way of answering a loaded question like that.
Why is that such a bad question? His software is used primarily for illegal deeds.
What he should have done is focus on what causes people to do so (greed/being cheap, a horrible media distribution system, overpriced merchandise, etc).
And then also discuss how bittorrent is so unique and how the MPAA and RIAA could use it to help distribute content legally (or something).
I think so, but the search is down, so who knows? I know they posted an article about a wired bittorrent article sometime recently. But that could have been the article about how movies/files/etc are distributed.
Wow, thanks HP and Phillips. Really looking out for your customers, aren't you?
Not that I was planning on buying anything DVD related from those two companies in the future, but I will be avoiding them like the plague now. And advising my family and friends to do the same.
For me this seems more like someone who, after diving into a clearly empty pool, is complaining that they didn't take the time to read the signs warning them that there was no water in the pool.
The only thing you can not easily do with iTunes is to listen to the songs on a non-Apple mp3 player. And, for those who are even slightly tech-savy this is a fairly non-trivial thing to do. It takes 1 CDRW and about 8 minutes a CD. Or you can use whatever software is available to crack the DRM.

is much much better!:p
And don't get me started about this page: http://users.wpi.edu/~oskard/sircol/index.php
Also the statement: pissed in 'english' simply means drunk. no modifiers needed. is true only if it is British English you were referring to, which was not clear.
I wouldn't call it funny, but I'm well aware that different words may have differet meanings in different locations. There was nothing that I didn't "get".
I think I found the problem.
I responded to this quote: Well we do have 'pissed off' which is equivilent to 'pissed' over there, so your meaning would be folowed.;)
I infered that the "we" above is an American saying that Americans use "pissed off" the same way Brits use "pissed". Now I was correcting that due to my (incorrect?) assumption. I can't exactly tell where the poster was located. He (she?) may also have meant that Americans used "pissed" in the same way that Brits use "pissed off", but that wasn't what I thought they were implying.

It also seems like a way for MS to try and get rid of some worthwhile non-MS software.
I ran the scan and it told me that WinPcap was spyware. Is MS trying to kill Ethereal?
FU CARLY
No kidding...

LOL - Babelfish strikes again!
They should sell.
This whole Intrawebs thing is just a fad. Get out now!

It's hot! (you might have a server problem, btw)

LOL - A poster with Troll in their name complimenting Roland Piquepaille.
:)
And I agree, nice sig
pissed Pronunciation Key (pst)
adj. Vulgar Slang
1. Extremely irritated or angry. Often used with off.
2. Chiefly British. Intoxicated; drunk.
In American English its common usage is equivalent to mad or upset.
I'll take my chances with the robot.
Nice line. It'd make a good sig, me thinks.
Maybe, but that long tail is a little bothersome. Who knows how fast he can whip that thing!
"pissed off" = mad, not drunk
The American "piss drunk" is the equivalent of "pissed".
I think?
You sure it's not a Korn field? (ok, lame Unix humor, I know)
(sorry, I'm not talking about the band - although the Korn dev did get a Kornshell book signed by the band)
The final speed will be 1 bps
1 bit per second? Ouch.
So, they'll have better quality cameras then?
Wow. A collection of bookmarks. This is new! Let's make up some words!
Guantanamo Bay is in Cuba, not Carolina. And there is no "Carolina". It's either North Carolina or South Carolina.
who's laughing?
And no, there's nothing wrong with the name Nullsoft. In fact, it's a great name. Having "Cock" in a company name is clearly stupid.
Good luck on never selling a damn thing. F'en juvenille.
Oh no, don't say that! I'm not a unix user, oh no...
Actually I am a "*nix" user. Using `` and '' in this format just looks absolutely horrendous.
Keynote and Powerpoint make people dumber. I'm too lazy to look up the coresponding Slashdot article.
The only reason people need flashy presentations is to compensate for lack of content.
