Kleinfelters is having XXY... though an extra X chromosome in females would result in XXX, which I find kind of funny for obvious reasons. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triple_X_syndrome
My parents bought 2 cell phones, both with a rebate. You COULD NOT file the rebade before 5 months after the purchase (WTF??) and after 6 months, it expired. Now I know my mom can be slow on things ("oh I'll get to it", 2 months later same thing), but she got this in properly because she had me help on it. Its now close to the end of the contract (1 yr) and she just got a notice that she filed wrong. BS.
Exactly. This is why what the RIAA is doing is pointless & stupid.
I didn't say I agreed or that it was at all effective. That's just the way they think (if you have a better explanation, aside from them knowing it has no impact on sales and just wanting some extra revinue, post it)
yea this is flamebait but its a good opertunity to make a point.
The votes were bought through campaign commercials - commercials funded by campaign contributions from the RIAA. Ex: Congressman supports RIAA, keeps getting campaign money so he gets re-elected (and probably some bribe money as well). If he stops, the RIAA stops funding, funds someone else, and that someone else gets elected, and they are back in power again
The campaigning system is broken and needs fixing. The majority of voters, which is what counts, are tricked into voting for people with these agendas, which are also never made public (enough) to sway people another way
Thats cirtainly the way its supposed to work, but it usually doesn't work out in this ideal way. Luckily, this time the unfair advantage is not on the RIAA's side. I forsee an almost unanimous vote of 'not guilty' influenced some by all the factors you listed.
no missing step: 1. Monitor P2P network 2. set up settlement hotline 3. Sent threatening letter (something like hundreds of thousands of dolars if you go to court, a more "resonable" ammount if you settle) 4. Profit!!
It tends to miss downloads, and reboot your computer automaticly. I check often enough that its not a problem, but I turn it on for all my family computers
For most users, the only thing in the windows security alert that could not be fixed by simply turning something on was antivirus software. All the others (auto-update, firewall) were included and could just be activated. Now they have one for that last bit (not like I use thier versions of the stuff, and hate autoupdate, but its good for the _normal_ user).
I know this is a joke... but these people can't pay their car payments as it is, either they can't afford/wont buy the items advertized or they will waste^H^H^H^H^H spend their money on this item instead of car payments

not so much hand-in-hand as that incompitence is used as an excuse.
which is rediculus because ignorance is NOT (supposed to be) a viable defense in legal actions. I see so many people say "sony probably didn't know blah blah blah" but the truth is, they are responsable for it, so they should make it their duty to know. And if they don't, its (supposed to be) law that they be held accountable.
However, ignorance seems to get you a pass if it involves technology, <sarcasm>since no-one can possably understand that stuff anyway, except for the hackers that exploit it</sarcasm>

Not an oversight, since we don't know if the 2 things will cancel totaly or only to a certain degree
sorry to reply to myself, but I just remembered something when I looked more at the site... the shrunken hydrogen atoms were called "Hydrinos" and I see it on the site... under chemical applications, "Hydrino-terminated Silicon for Microelectronics Applications"
I knew this company sounded familair... it is in the book "Voodoo Science"
basicly, this company tried to explain cold fusion by saying that the meathod "was a catalytic process that allows hydrogen atoms to make a transition into a state below the ground state", which is complete bull.
I don't have time now to look, but I think this company went under/had a bad rep for selling crap science, so they came back as blacklight power.
BTW: best line in the book: "Its a theory... to the extent that it was done with a pencil"

The people who do it a lot know what they are doing (usually) and probably can avoid detection better.
Those who are more casual are more open to their spyware infections, so the RIAA can have "proof" of their downloading
Sharing. At least, thats how they justify it. Doesn't mean its right, though.
This goes into the copyright section more than just lost potental revinue from the defendant, but from people who downloaded from the defendant
And having a P2P program automaticly means you uploaded the file to 3950380129843 people acording to the RIAA, so....

If the people use computers, they have probably heard of hackers. Use that, perhaps

you may be right for some people here, but I'd say a lot of people realy do just use the default configuration from the ISP...
perhaps it was +1 nokarmaforyou?
