Great, another one of earths wonders, and its prolly going to be killed, or put into some tank for its "protection"
Stories like these remind me of the beavers that used to live in Canada that where around 300 lbs and the dodo birds. Humans seem to have this thing about wanting to be the only species on this planet, and the way things are going, it would seem we're going to get there sooner then later.
How can it be illegal to change prices based on what type of customer you are? Are people that stupid? What would we have done? Government intervention to force fixed pricing, sounds great, if your not into capitalism? It would seem that many Americans now want to be spoon fed the cheapest prices. its called research, your not supposed to just buy from the first place you find an item you want, your supposed to look for it, its a capitalistic society, competition of prices is what drives the market to change, if one company wants to charge less for a product because they have repeat customers...that would make sense to me...keeps them coming back, if your a one time pass through then yeah, why wouldn't' they just post the generic price? They don't know if you're coming back, you offer no real potential value outside of that one purchase. It just pisses me off to see some one bitch and say its "against the law" to have price variation based on customer usage. Don't like the store policies, don't shop there.
I agree. I read an article recently saying that video games where our secret fantasies. This was based on the idea that for the most part, video games, even mmorpg's, where done in the privacy of ones home. This allows the user to act in ways they would feel to awkward about when around others. But this also suggest that playing Counter Strike means i have secret fantasies of killing people.
what about studies with TV and violence? since the advent of television has Violence risen in the US? the only thing I've ever heard that raises violence amongst individuals is pornography, or sexually explicit material. apparently the hormones released has effects on "anger control", but I'm will to bed porn isn't going to be banned anytime soon.
personally i think the media is looking for a scape goat as to why violence exists. every one is an ass some point in there life, just some more then others.
The TV companies most likely don't care that people download their shows for a number of reasons. One, since the shows are produced fairly rapidly, they don't need to worry about someone on the inside distributing the newest episode. And even if they did, it would only be out shortly before it was aired on TV, thus having no major impact on the number of views. The TV series has most likely received its payments from advertising well before the show is aired. sales from TV DVD's are mostly inconsequential to overall asset returns from shows, with the exception of a few of the more popular ones.
If anything, its probably beneficial for shows to have their episodes downloaded. You can't get the newest one's much longer before they come to TV, and even if you do, the quality is always going to be lower unless you have the money for a really sweet connection speed. Most common folks not only dont have the speeds, but wouldn't bother with the effort. Constantly downloading shows, mp3's, and porn takes allot of effort. Sites are getting shut down, you piss off someone and they block you from some area to download. People are lazy, I'd love to see the age group for those who download the most. 10bucks says its highschool to college kids. they got money, and a ton of free time. For example, even though MP3 downloading has reached a very mainstream point, most people I know doing it, only use it casually to dl some random song, the ones constantly downloading the newest album of any particular band are either to poor to buy the CD, or have to much time on their hands. CD's are still popular because people are naturally lazy, IMHO. But that's a different subject entirely.

Moxie punishment? Moxie is the drink of the gods, given to us by Zues himself. We should praise god every day for the abundance of Moxie.
yeah, i think your right on that one. A few geeks, 3 bottles of Moxie, and nothing to do on a friday night and i'm sure well all have our crack.
