Well, if you want to see how different page loads can be in different browsers, I suggest you try loading a few non-cached pages in IE7 and Firefox 3 beta 4. The difference is very noticable. Don't ask me how, but somehow Firefox 3 seems to suck the pages down off the web and display them in half the time it takes in IE7.
Firefox 2 is not Acid2 compatible because of the development tree they have used. Firefox 2 uses basically the same rendering engine as 1.5, while Firefox 3 will be a huge leap ahead on the rendering side.
For Firefox 2 they have mainly concentrated on a few nice features + loads of polish. This is what Firefox 1.0 should have been like:) (I'm thinking search engine manager, tab overflow handling, etc.) But then we would have had to waste another two years with IE6.
Well, I'm going to hijack this thread for a better cause:
If you, like me, think the Firefox 2 default theme is good in general, but too pale, look no further. Well, actually, look just below this paragraph:

Err... Don't know about Nikons RAW, but Canons RAW files are losslessly compressed. When developed into a LZW-TIFF or a PNG, those files end up larger than the initial RAW!
Wives are always right. We'll just have to accept that.

As much as I'd like Firefox to reign superior in the browser market, I think we can expect lots of present Firefox users to flock back to IE7 (or IE8?) once Longhorn is out.
However, IE7 won't be out for another 8 months or so, so Firefox has a while left to gain users. Hopefully they can stay ahead by innovating, at least for a year and a half.
I know it doesn't make perfect logical sense, so I can see why they don't have the toolbars layed out like that as default. However, since Opera is so customizable, it should be possible have the toolbars that way if i like.
haha, n1
Not so much
Yep, it's kind of mind-boggling what the Firefox team has accomplished indirectly.
Beta 5 was rock solid for me. Probably an addon thing.
Um, no it doesn't.

Hmm... duh! Read his post again. The whole point of it is that Firefox 3 now actually feels like an OS X app.
Sorry, no FP. But Firefox 3 is da bomb!
Shift+Delete should do the trick.
Believe me, it really is much better now.
Yes, as someone else said, this is (soon) 2008 for crying out loud!! Removing Ogg from the spec is a HUGE mistake!
Also, Ogg is superior to WMA and Mp3, and slightly better than AAC. http://www.rjamorim.com/test/multiformat128/result s.html

There's on for instance ^^
Once again...
If you find the Firefox 2 theme too bleak, I've got your fix right here.
Heh, yeah, I know. :D
I realized about 4 milliseconds after I hit the submit, but it alas, it was too late.

Keeping the 90% is going to be tough, seing that nowhere near 90% use Win XP...
Sounds bad. Never heard of that one before.

I have to agree. Well done.
Heh. I bet the chinese authoroties would like that.
