Janaki just about blew her lid the next day in class. It was really hot.

That the author went on to explain his question doesn't imply that he hadn't intended to have a little ironic fun in the prelude. That you would fail to understand this, on the other hand, implies that you can't read people for shit. And there's really no shame in admitting that.

Neither is there shame in admitting you were wrong. One of your many problems, you ought to know, is that you suffer from a chronic inability to acknowledge any mistakes--not just here, but also in this thread, by your obstinate defense of a patently false claim; in this thread, by your peculiar refusal to acknowledge a strawman of your own construction (I say peculiar because pointing out strawmen is an obsessive pastime of yours); and in countless other comments I can't be bothered to dig up for the sole sake of your illumination.

My guess is that you're simply too proud to admit defeat, though you sense it. And therein lies the pathos of your situation. I am simply offering you advice, after all. Would that you'd learn to listen.

You know what, Nick? To judge from the first few posts here--which is all I could stand to read, quite frankly--you're actually a rather well-reasoned and intelligent individual, certainly more so than the dunce with whom you picked a fight. For this, congratulations. Your "accomplishment" does nothing, however, to absolve you of responsibility for polluting nearly half a discussion with altogether useless comments stillborn at an unreasonably high Score: 2.

In addition, I'm not sure you realize how pathetic it is that you feel the need to disparage aforementioned dunce by comparing his education to your somewhat less mediocre academic credentials, all with the aim of reassuring yourself of your own importance--which any disinterested third party with training in psychoanalysis would agree is your motivation, whether you realize it or not. This, in fact, is the reason I couldn't stand to read any more than the first few of your posts in this thread. It was simply too depressing to imagine a creature with smarts such as yours suffering in sad solitude, the world passing by, he unable to understand why.

I will, however, take a moment to point out that one serious concern to we Americans is that the dollar will lose its status as an international currency of reserve--notably, the price of gold has nearly doubled since the late 1990s--and this loss will make it much harder for our country to borrow money and finance private industry.

Please do read the articles I mentioned, and perhaps you will understand why so many people are terrified at our administration's callous neglect of our decades-old strong dollar policy.
