    So why are Maldivians packing their bags?

    and will sign the Kyoto Protocol, thus lowering sea levels?

    The point is that his argument is completely non-scientific

    I'll respond by quoting my own post which you did not read too carefully:

    State of Fear had hundreds of footnotes referencing the 3rd IPCC and actual scientific studies from actual scientists.

    PLEASE Pick up the novel from the library. Read the introduction, skip past the entire 600 or so pages of the mediocre story and read the author's notes, the appendices and the scores of footnotes from scientific journals and other sources in the Bibliography.
    If he's so full of b.s., and your faith is so strong, what have you got to fear?

    Saying X group of people feed in fear is nonsensical.

    Not if it's true.

    To this point and your point that their existed some unimpeachable proof of anthropic global warming before scaremongers ran with it:
    Chrichton's footnotes scores of cases where environmentalists (and he's/I'm talking about the religious wing here) exaggerated and distorted the evidence, which is *not* incontrovertible to begin with.
    If you want me to back it up, I refer you to his book and the hundreds of secondary sources he sties. most of them scientific journals.

    After all that, I'll remind you that my primary point was to highlight the wickedness of the posts of the good green folks delighting at the man's death.

    Notice how most of the posts mocking, belittling and having fun with the man's death are coming from the "How dare he question Global Warming" crowd.

    State of Fear had hundreds of footnotes referencing the 3rd IPCC and actual scientific studies from actual scientists.

    Regardless your view on Global Warming, he has a valid point in the book:
    *Enviornmentalists feed on fear.
    *The media feeds on fear.
    *Politicians feed on fear.
    Results in
    *Echo chamber effect.

    It's hard to get elected saying or to get a story on the news about how: "The sky is NOT falling, or not falling that fast, or it's not our fault that it's falling".

    Apparently that is all it takes to get the altruistic, gentle Green movement dancing on your grave.

    Blacks voted solely on race in this election and I don't blame them.
    However, it *will* concern me if he gets that number in the *next* election.
    97% reflects the desire to bring on this euphoric milestone of a post-racial society.
    I was watching Fox News when they called it for Obama last night.
    I teared up with Juan Williams as he emoted about what this meant to him and this country.
    Now that this threshold has been crossed, I'm hoping blacks will feel free to vote issues *not* race in future elections.
    We will see.

    I don't
    Democrats have:
    *Almost total control of all 3 branches

    *Socialism is addictive
    This time Obama promised $1,000, in other people's money, to tens of millions of Americans.
    How does any conservative run on undoing that?
    Those millions will vote for Obama again when he promises to *two* thousand dollars in 2012.

    *The Media
    Fox News, you say?
    I say ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, NPR and nearly every newspaper.
    Talk Radio you say? The Fairness Doctrine will silence dissenting voices in talk radio.

    *Control of the floodgates of illegal immigrants, who vote 2 to 1 Democrat.
    Yes, they vote. and Democrats oppose the "draconian" requirement of an ID card to vote.

    *Labor Unions. They support Card Check which eliminates secret ballot voting in unions.

    *Total control of teachers unions. (think social studies)

    *15,000,000 federal employees and counting.
    How does a conservative run on cutting government when such a huge portion of the population will fear for their jobs and vote against them.

    I voted against Obama.
    But now I do take solace in the silver-lining:
    Racial healing.
    May forever more, the words of racists like Reverend Jeremiah Wright ring hollow to black youth, and the youth of every other race.
    May the coming generation now see that, whatever vestiges of institutional may racism remain, YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH ANYTHING IN AMERICA.

    Truly this is a testament to the greatness of this country. Has there ever been a society in the history of the earth, where a once slave class later produced an elected leader?

    A bright silver-lining indeed!

    True, they didn't quite get to the 60 seat filibuster proof majority in the Senate, but it shouldn't be any problem swaying a few Republicans with Bridges To Nowhere and seats on the really cool committees.

    Of the 19 recognized polar bear subpopulations, 5 are declining, 5 are stable, 2 are increasing, and 7 have insufficient data.

    Here's some insight into how the media works.
    Did they report on the the 5 subpopulations that were INCREASING or DECREASING?

    If they were fair, they'd've concluded the jury is still out and wait for more data to come in.
    But they didn't.
    They cherry-picked facts to fit the "man is evil" and "climate change is an URGENT" matter narratives.

    It is a vote to give a group of politicians (in this case Democrats) TOTAL POWER.
