Well let's see now. George W. Bush was elected 2 times. CondaNAZI Rice... errr... I meant Condoleezza REICH using one threat after another when dealing with foreign issues? The Patriot Act? So let's defend freedom by removing freedom... does that even make sense? Then you're surprised when issues like that start popping up more and more?

The state is encouraging it... think about it.

Giving police authority/power to people who have been improperly trained results in those powers being overused and abused. I think the video clearly shows this. The man was protesting, yes. Was he violent?

I didn't read anything about the student attacking the police or being violent with them, so why did they use the taser 5 times on him? They tase him and then expect the guy to stand up right after. A taser is actually made to disable a man for more than just a few minutes and even if he could get up, his legs would be weak and wobbly.

It's almost like telling someone to stop bleeding or you'll hit him in the face again... nice logic.

  3. Re:New games ONLY work as well as the old ones. on The PlayStation 3 Launches In the U.S. · · Score: 1

I don't think you get my point. I DO NOT want to upgrade my PC regularly. I am sick and tired of having to upgrade my computer every year or so just to be able to get the most out of the new "game of the year". Hardware goes by so fast that if you want to upgrade your CPU, most of the time you have to upgrade your Motherboard and the RAM that goes with it.

I have an AMD Athlon XP2500+ clocked at 1.82 Ghz with 1GB of RAM. My GPU is an ATI Radeon 9600. That's pretty decent hardware considering I bought it 2 years ago. I always buy mid-range because I refuse to pay extra for the top hardware of the month.

Now my motherboard supports other faster CPUs that could raise the Ghz to 2.2 tops. If I want more, I have to change my motherboard... again!

I am not saying that the PS3 is better than any PC you could build, I am saying that the PS3 would suit my needs for playing quality games with quality graphics and performance. Some of my friends have spent $800+ just to get THE BEST graphic card available on the market and this was 2 years ago. Today that card is worth much less and that's JUST for the GPU. $600 gets your a complete game console that allows you to do more than just play games.

So while I do agree that PCs have the potential to unlock a lot more power assuming you have the right hardware to go with it, I'm still switching camps and heading for the console based on what I want and what I need. Don't get me wrong, I still use my PC for other things so I won't throw it in the trash, but you can bet your ass I won't be upgrading it for a very long while.

  4. Re:You're a goddamn retard on The PlayStation 3 Launches In the U.S. · · Score: 1
I said that my PC BARELY made the MINIMUM requirements. I have 1.8 Ghz, 1GB of RAM and a good ATI video card. If you read further down, you'd see:

In order to play the game at the recommended resolution, detail and performance levels, your computer should match or exceed the following specifications:

Operating System: Windows XP with latest service pack installed DirectX 9.0c February 2006 edition (included)

CPU: 3.0 Ghz RAM: 1.5 Gb Video Card: 256Mb DirectX compliant video card, Pixel shader 2.0 and above.

Hard Drive space: 1.8Gb of space is required to install the game

    Internet connection: 512Mb Cable/DSL connection

Now since I said I had the MINIMUM requirements, that means I would have to lower the resolution, quality of graphics, details, etc just to be able to play the game at a decent rate. I think the retarded person here is the one that doesn't read the requirements all the way through.

In order to start taking advantage of the game in the way it was intended to be played, I'd have to upgrade my Motherboard, CPU and RAM which alone would cost me 500 $USD. The ONLY reason I need to upgrade would be to play intense games. So why would I do it? I already have a PC that allows me to touch up photos, write e-mails, surf the web, watch videos, listen to music, etc. Why in the hell would I need to spend another 500 $ just so I can play new games? If I'm going to do that, might as well buy the PS3 and make it a safe bet that I won't need to upgrade for at least 5 years.

The fact that I can make my own decision and explain WHY I am making this decision makes me intelligent. Since you're resorting to insults, I question if you could truly engage in a battle of the wits... you are obviously unarmed.

Since the PS3 will support Linux, the system will be able to do REAL e-mail as well.

Personally I used to be on the side of PC games with reasonable hardware to play games. I upgraded my computer on several occasions each time spending close to 600 $USD. I am sick and tired of upgrading my computer just to be able to play the new game that demands just too much of computers. Take Battlefield 2142 for example. I checked the MINIMUM system requirements and my system barely meets them. Granted I haven't upgraded in awhile, but I'm not going to either.

Also you may want to consider that when they code a game for a specific console, they already know exactly what hardware is inside the box, so it makes it easier for the programmers to make a stable game with a lot less bugs than you could think of. You don't need to update your video drivers every time you get a new game...

I look at it this way: Pay 600 $USD now and your console is good for at least 5 years. Compare that to a PC where you will have to upgrade it at least once every 1.5 years and you can see that the cost is a lot greater than the PS3. Yup, screw PC, I'm moving to consoles now.
