Consider reading Part Four, suggestion Four in the Carnegie book, "How to Win Friends and Influence People" titled "No One Likes to Take Orders". You're not wrong; your approach works, it is just a different approach that may be even more effective.
He might be a pin-head, yet it should be stressed that a manager isn't hired to do the same job as their subordinates. They should know how to help you by removing barriers, not how to replace you. I would bet that it would be impossible for someone to acquire your extensive skills and aquire the equally extensive skills it takes to manage people. Our brains are only so big and there is only so much time. A manager must be judged on management skills alone. They aren't (nor should be) geniuses, and the must know how to encourage you to reach your highest potential in your position.
It is absolutely crucial to read "How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie. That will turn anyone into a good manager.
Best manager I had was an analytical type like us back at GE. He read lots of books and practiced what they preached. The Carnegie book is the most important!
Salespeople are running the show. They are never concerned with the product, only the packaging. If the music industry was concerned with content, the current music wouldn't so, so violently suck.
It's like driving. You're a great driver. You are careful and alert. But the other guy on the road is drunk. He slams into you. You die. It isn't your fault, it is the drunk's fault, but you are still dead!:-)
OTOH Rick Berman can kiss my hairy butt. You could replace him with an baboon and get better results...
Testify, brother!!! I don't mean ill-will toward Mr. Berman, but he has definitely turned an interesting series into a long and boring drawl. If he would only allow his actors to act!
You're totally right; there is no relationship between medical records and intellectual property. People do not sell medical records for profit. They are personal information meant to be private, not publically consumed like intellectual property.
I can completely understand why an artist would wish to be paid for their work. We do, after all, live in a Capitalist society that forces us to desire the dollar and only the dollar, for all things spring forth from it, including the most important thing: freedom, which was abolished once property taxes became law (you cannot live without having money off the land, and those who control the money control you).
I think the root of this problem is that the executives in these media companies do not deserve to be where they are. They are cowards, unable to come up with a creative way to use the current situation to their advantage and make money from the new way of sharing their media. Those precious few executives that rose to their position by merit of their intelligence and not that the sharpness of their knife will change the world. I hope they do so soon.
I agree with sphealey on this. The kernel developers should have some time to address issues before malicious crackers get their greedy hands on them. He did admit that his opinion was a bit extreme, though. I like how he is letting the community come up with the solution on this.
Seems that the bulk of them liked to make the line-width really small and use multiple lines to sketch instead of varying the width *shrug*. You're right -- they aren't being very clear on that one.

Do you think the person who came up with this at Google will get a raise? This is so cool, I feel like sending him/her a bit of cash myself!
I own an old Wacom PenPartner tablet and the harder I press, the thicker the line both for drawing and erasing. I wonder why they had to use a line-width indicator for this instead of pressure?

You are, like, this close to starting your paragraphs with, "Here I am, brain the size of a planet..." :-)
Frankly, I thought they were sausages. 18% represent!!!
44% believe the moon is still made of green cheese
The moon was never made of green cheese. The cheese is orange, as proven by Wallace and Grommit!

Is it just me, or is the camera movement on that show (BG) driving everybody else nuts too? It makes me nauseous. And... oh, oh god, the boredom...

This may explain that grey meat in McDonalds burgers.
Nope: nothing exists until it is observed. Reality is spooooky, ain't it? I didn't even write this response until you looked at it!
