  1. Re:Letting all your crimes be known? Would you? on Recording Your Entire Life · · Score: 1

I didn't get that the monitors were internal, but I may have missed that part.
A few posts above were talking about if it was mandatory (I'm too lazy to check, maybe I imagined that part), but if they were to be mandatory in 20-30 years, then it would have to be internal, otherwise I wouldn't see why someone couldn't just "forget" to bring it with them when they go out, or similar.

I only said it reminded me of it - It reminded me of it in the sense that no one would be able to get away with murdering Ender (or the person's whose life is being recorded), even if it wasn't real-time monitoring like Ender's was at least partially (certain people could review it, but I presumed there was someone/some people employed to monitor him real-time). If someone was found dead, they would just look up what happened to them, however they couldn't do that if the record was stolen, which is why I suggested it would have to be transmitted in real time. Otherwise if it was for example on a USB stick, the murderer could just pick it up while they're cleaning up the scene of the crime.

I'd look forward to all school bullies and sibling violence being treated as if they were adult crimes.
Reminds me of the monitor Ender (and his siblings) had in Ender's Game. They weren't charged with anything for what they did, but it gave him some protection against anyone who wanted to hurt him - similarly, if someone was to be murdered, this (life recording) would make sure they're punished for it. Presuming the recording wasn't taken, which would mean it would have to be uploaded somewhere wirelessly.
  3. Re:utility? on Computer Monitor In Eyeglasses · · Score: 1

I'm not saying that's incorrect, however the most common reason (except for old age) for being short or long-sighted is because the eye is too long/short, meaning that when you're focusing at the extreme, it's still not enough for it to land focused on the retina, the focus-point is either in front of or behind the retina.

If I remember correctly, it coming about from old age is from the lens becoming inflexible through age, it can't be stretched by the muscles to the same extremes as it used to be able to, meaning you can't focus far away or close.

That's how I understood it. However I would be interested in any further explanations you can give about your reason.

How about an LCD? Is that just as bad as staring at a CRT monitor? The light is shining from the the top and bottom down and up respectively, not towards you.

I find it's a lot easier to read on my LCD than my CRT, but is that because of the extra clarity (I use a DVI connection, when I was using an analog one before my new video card it wasn't so good), or?

Drink nothing but water for two days prior to the test. It will flush much of the caffene and sugary drinks out of your system.
Bad idea on the no caffeine if you're a caffeine addict - hard to concentrate during an exam when you've got a massive headache from caffeine withdrawals. Two days isn't going to get rid of them.

This isn't really DRM, they're only trying to track who is distributing copies of something they're not allowed to. They aren't trying to limit how many computers you can listen/copy to, or any of the other usual DRM things.
Apart from sharing your music on a p2p program or the like, they're not limiting what you can do with the files.
