What is this, a paid advertisement? How do I place my obscure product on Slashdot front page?
Just promise something great, don't deliver it after a year and then promise something else. I'm guessing vaporwareforvaporware.com was already taken so they posted to/. instead.
It reads like they emailed him the questions and he replied in writing. Fuck him. I hope you're proud of what you put your family through just so you could try to thump your chest a little bit. Pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. Reap what you sow you lying asshat.
Our forefathers dreamed of things we take for granted today. Electricity, transportation, communication, etc. Our ideas are about making things more efficient (smaller, faster, etc) or serving our corporate masters by making them cheaper or more profitable.
We have plenty of ideas, just not all of them serve mankind - they server our technological or cultural needs. Looking back, our forefathers' ideas were about their place in time as well.
The police are just looking out for the man's interests. If he took his Blackberry to a water fight it could get wet and be ruined and it would just end in tears (which he would hide by getting wet again). They saved his Blackberry to tweet/text/post another day.
Should also cost their lawyers and possibly lead to disbarment. Manipulating evidence is a serious crime.
They should just put the lawyer's balls in a vice.
Bailiff: Do you swear to tell the truth [tightens vice] the whole truth [tightens vice] and nothing but the truth [tightens vice]? Um, man, that's just nasty. Is there a urologist in the house?
It is either an altered/retouched image of a Galaxy Tab or it isn't. There is no reason to alter the image to look more like an iPad if it already looks too much like an iPad.
I think it all depends on how the contracts with the bands/musicians were worded. If they don't read as "works for hire" contracts, or the record companies only have distribution deals, then the RIAA bastards may be out of luck.
According to the FAQ, if you replace your motherboard, the upgrade is no longer valid on the chip. It must store the information in the BIOS or at least use an identifier from the BIOS.
They're probably grabbing a unique identifier from the motherboard or BIOS/EFI and storing it in non-volitale RAM on the chip. When you run the 'upgrade' it probably just updates the bits for the clock multiplier. By storing a unique (and probably encrypted) value tied to the board it will make it harder for someone to figure come up with a crack.
First 4, then very quickly Firefox 5 and now version 6? Where is the consistency?
The consistency is that they are only incrementing the version number by '1' each time. Just be glad they didn't decide to use prime numbers or a Fibonacci sequence.
So you want Google to start charging significant licensing fees to Android phone vendors? How about $50 per phone? More? You think that would affect the cost to the consumer?
Google gets its revenue from search (and selling our souls one bit at a time), and you're going to cry that their phone OS is subsidized by search revenue? Build your own, go with iOS or WinPhone, or some other option if you don't like it. Call me when Google starts charing outrageous licensing fees and ties some search revenue to their phones.
Worthy of China? Sure, but Egypt was the first time that came to mind while watching this disgraceful session live... that didn't work too well BTW.
What these so called "leaders" don't understand is the same social networks used to organize these actions are also being used by the public to warn each other about where these attacks are taking place, where to avoid and calling their friends & neighbors to arms to help them protect their families, homes and businesses.
Someone: What's that?
Mac Owner: It's my Mac.
Someone: Nice PC.
Mac Owner: It's not a PC, it's a Mac.
Someone: What's the difference?
Mac Owner: The difference is that it's a Mac and not a PC.
Someone: Is it yours?
Mac Owner: Yes.
Someone: It's your computer?
Mac Owner: Yes.
Someone: Yours personally? You own it?
Mac Owner: Yes.
Someone: So it's your personal computer but not a personal computer?
Mac Owner: Exactly. Now you get it.
Look, Apple closed above Exxon today but that doesn't make software worth more than oil. Oil is a finite resource and has price fluctuations like many other commodities. There is an endless supply of coders to spew out software.
Now, good software may be worth more than oil, but I don't think there's enough of it around to really turn it into a commodity.

Now it says "Blog coming soon", but the HTML has "Redevelopment in progress." & "Vendors to contact home office." in comments.
Let's hope GridOS doesn't run on HTML or these guys won't get out of the starting gate.
you forget about all the facebook web beacon javascript, all the major websites have them. (noscript ftw!)
And about everyone he knows who has him in their address book and friends list.
WooHoo! Now I'm only one step away from you, Anonymous Coward.

For all intents and purposes...
Geez ... it's intensive porpoises. Those regular porpoises are just slackers and could care less.

Disclaimer: Mac & iPhone owner.

So what is it?
It's a database about data. Who's data? What data? What kind of data about data? Who knows.
It's plain as day. WE NEED COMMUNISM NOW! You'd have to be blind not to see it.
Communist zombies? Those are slated for the sequel. Everyone knows you never put communist zombies in the first release.
Of course it costs more in the US & UK. It's to offset the standard of living (or rather the standard of being undead).
It's just another planet that couldn't pay it's bills so the Sun cut it off. Once again evil corporations have gone too far.

Sure my client's BES could be hacked with an image file, but the image is of a really hot chick, so it's a fair trade.
Earlier today I saw 56
A well played David Bowie reference.

So when I go to the gas station and ask them for a couple of grams, I might get Thorium some day? ;)
