I agree with you Wnight that there is grandstanding going on - and certainly not by you.
A discussion on Iran is an interesting one because of the parallels to be drawn between it, and the US. They want nothing more than the US does, and they have nothing more than what the US has and that is a theocracy. God, or those who lay claim to him lead in falsehood. Much like the Shah
The argument then becomes can one opt out of something that really isn't a culture? Goodness only knows what "culture" the US is trying to impose upon the rest of the world. Judging from the absolute poverty here and the lack of compassion or even basic medical care for 46million...I would say a culture of freedom is not being transmitted, only a culture of oppression and war mongering.
I ramble.
The problem with EULAs is once you have purchased the product, say a game and opened the box (unreturnable at this point) you are exposed and forced, lest you forego the purchase price of your game/app/whatever lest you click on the little "I agree" box. It's a sort of blackmail. The vendor does not make the EULA available prior to purchase and "read it on the web" is not practical. Too much effort on behalf of the consumer, and conveniently not enough on behalf of the manufacturer/vendor.
While this is not the case all of the time, it is most often the case.
Everytime I hear of a remake of some film I loved, a little part of me dies. I can only imagine that this is going to end up like the bastard lovechild of Hackers and The Matrix. However, with worse writing.
.stfu and.stuff and.crap &.junk and soon all we will have is trendy focused tld advertising. Of course, we wouldn't need any of it if we did away with DNS:) . Try remembering the ip of your favorite pr0n site.
