  5. Re:Yes, it is. Learn about shit before you post. on RIAA Sues MP3.com · · Score: 1

Yes, there will always be people that will figure out how to "cheat the system". But most of the people that know they "can" decide not to. I can walk into a [\w+]-mart and see all of the security measures in place: two-way mirrors, cameras, etc. and I know how to get around these. Do I act on this knowlege? No. I pay my money, get my merchandise, and continue on my way. I think the majority of people are honest.

As for borrowing from the library, or a friend's collection you could always do that. All MP3.com is doing is providing some free storage(in beta anyway) and some streaming ability.

In my case, the only time I pirate music is if I can't find, within a reasonable amount of time, a recording that I really want. In this way, I think the RIAA is inadvertently perpetuating piracy by not making more obscure titles readily available.

Right...but "Joe Sixpack" is much more likely to remember amazon.com on a 10 second radio ad than i2wantchermonee.com

And even when I hear these "clever" names it doesn't spark my interest because it seems cheesy. I would actually prefer 209.207.224.42

I s'pose I could use the news media for free advertising...then my name would be all over the search engines. But that's a tricky game.

Gone are the days of just hanging a sign on the door.

Why not? Sex is no big deal. I don't know why it's treated as such a taboo; something that belongs behind closed doors. As for taking a shit..again, why not? All other animals defecate outside. Who am I do deny my animal nature?

Also, being the moron that I am, I am offended by your vulgarity, yelling, and spelling errors.

  11. People that advocate privacy... on Subdermal Implant Can Be Tracked via GPS · · Score: 1

certainly have something to hide. Individual people enjoy being "naughty" once in awhile, but society as a whole suffers the consequences of combined individual "naughtiness". The condition that facilitates naughtiness is privacy. Most (sane) people think "if I'm not being watched, I can do whatever I want".

I see nothing wrong with the government or, better yet, civilians being able to keep track of everybody else. Think of all the maladies that plauge our world. Disease. Teen pregnancy. Physical abuse of children. The list goes on and on and on. These destructive social disasters could very easily vanish if we had a way of patroling our own society.

Consider being able to fire up your HMD and find out if your teenage child is *really* at the Mall or if it's a smokescreen. Maybe their smoking crack, or perhaps, in very close proximity with a questionable young person of the opposite sex. It's not a matter of trust, it's a matter of protection. People's entire lives can be destroyed by mistakes made under the viel of privacy.

I'd be more than willing to wear an implant, be under constant video surveillance, etc. because I have nothing to hide. Our govt. writes definitions of "right" and "wrong" but the collective people ultimately control the government.

Before this turns into a rant....I'll just put on my asbestos underwear and leave it at that.

  12. Let me get this straight... on Surgeon General Says 1/5 of Americans are Nuts · · Score: 1

If more and more people have a mental disorder diagnosis...that means the crazies are becoming the majority? Will the "sane" people have to change the US constitution to reflect the inadequacy of the (crazy)majority to maintain "order". Sorry for my gratuitous use of quotes but this is all bullshit.

I have been diagnosed with a mental disorder and I am still living a reletively sane life. In fact, I can't remember one completely sane person that I've met in the past 5 years. So if everybody's wacked then we're all normal. Right?

  14. Hotmail was great...then came MS on Hotmail Cracked Badly · · Score: 1

Ok, this company needs to be squashed and squashed hard. I started using hotmail before it was MSN Hotmail. I chose hotmail because it was free, low on advertising, and I could access it with a text browser (this was before I had my own pc and used a library terminal). Then Dr. Evil came into the picture and f*cked everything up. One of the first "enhancements" they did was take away my Lynx access. That pissed me off royally. Now, every (ahem) 3l33t haxor dood with too much time can use my Mastercard #. Screw Microsoft. Hotmail was fine until these losers showed up. To Mr. Gates... If it ain't broke, DON'T FIX IT!!!!
