I agree 100% with this comment. In the end some form of life will survive, I even think that humans will survive. We will just shrink our population and lose our advancements in technology, we will be cavemen again...
This is true, read up on the OpenSPARC T2 processor and how it is able to run 8 concurrent threads per core.
I think core counts like this will help with AI. After all the human brain is very similar to a computer with many, many cores. It doesn't process fast but the processing happens concurrently on a very large scale.
I would say what you did is correct and how he is reacting isn't within the spirit of the GPL.
Also how did he find that you are using his code unless he was viewing your code? He must have been browsing your code looking for improvements...
It is all fair game with the GPL as it should be. I would say let him get mad and continue using his code as the GPL permits it.
