Also, non-gamers probably hold onto their machines for at least 3 years. At that point, the power-supply is almost due to fail, and the harddrive isn't far behind.

Which is why a true conservative, concerned more about America's security than about corporate profits, would oppose drilling in the ANWR. The ANWR is our true strategic reserve, and will keep us from being out-gunned by the last country to have any oil.

Even putting drilling equipment in place would threaten our national security, since some pissant will turn the tap to solve a "short term" crisis (like his own electability). After peak oil is undeniable, and the value of the ANWR as a strategic resource is univerally recognized, we can put the infrastructure in place.

Yes, children; a computer is like a car (go figure). You could hop-in without any training or parking-lot practice, and try to get to your destination. This approach will result in you slamming into every parked car along the path to your destination, and is not unlikely to result in your death.

Taking a drivers-ed course, or at least finding someone to get you started, and practicing in any empty parking lot, will provide you with many more years of a cheaper, safer, and more enjoyable experience.

Regardless of which approach you take, consider using a car famous for its stability and solid construction. Avoid the vehicle with a 6" steel spike where the airbag should be, and the large "botnet me" sign on the rear bumper.

I am a Liberal who likes Michael Moore's films. I've SiCKO, and it seemed well done and important (I can't say that I 'enjoyed' it, because it's hard to enjoy having your face rubbed in greed and suffering). His 'stuntiness' makes me uncomfortable, but as long as his claims are true, I can live with his hit-and-miss delivery style.

There is one 'fact' that he mentions in this movie that doesn't seem to be true: he says that Detroit has a higher infant mortality rate than El Salvador. When I went looking, Detroit is high for America (1.55% instead of .7% for the US), but the figures (CIA and WHO, probably both from the same source data) said something like 2.2%. Maybe there's a better source than the WHO, or maybe Moore fell for some 'official' government publicity figure that paints El Salvador in a better light.

When you want to create controversial and adversarial pieces like this, it is really, really important to triple-check your facts.

Here in Florida, many of the suburban neighborhoods built in the last 15 years, have "reclaimed water" for sprinklers. This water is actually sewage that has been filtered and treated to almost-potable standards. The reclaimed water is only used for sprinkler systems, not toilets or laundry. Even the hose-bibs on the outside of the house, that you might use for washing your car, are regular potable water. With our severe freshwater shortages (and frequent restriction periods), we should at least require that all new houses have isolated plumbing for toilets, even if that separate plumbing is hooked up to potable water for now. A few years down the road, we are likely to need to switch at least toilets to reclaimed water.
