    I like Amazon, but just because a company appears to leave cash on the table, doesn't mean they actually are.

    The math can be done to show that giving refunds generously or offering free return shipping, while costly, can actually be profitable as it can lead to additional sales. Actions like this can be done even if the company's only motivation is increasing shareholder value.

    If you know how and when to avoid it, as you clearly know how to do, you're probably right that being tracked isn't a big deal - and may actually be a plus. However, the issue is that most people don't know how or when to disable tracking.

    The second part of your statement may be true, but I doubt the first part is. It makes a difference, just not for that reason.

    Data for all the friends of the 270,000 users was also given to the developer, as was allowed by Facebook. This turned 270,000 into 50,000,000.

    You can drastically speed up PDF load times if you disable all the unneeded plugins:

    1. Install Adobe Reader 6.0 and notice where it is installed.
    2. Navigate to that folder in Explorer, locate the plug_ins subfolder and rename this folder to plug_ins_disabled.
    3. Create a new plug_ins folder.
    4. Move the files EWH32.api, printme.api and search.api from plug_ins_disabled to plug_ins.
