They need to team up with Real Dolls. I'd go to Disney World for that.

  2. Why I like Gentoo on Measuring The Benefits Of The Gentoo Approach · · Score: 1, Insightful

I've tinkered with various distributions over the years and the main reason I like Gentoo is the package management system, Portage. It is by far the best package mgmt system I've ever used in a Linux environment. The thought of RPMs frighten me.

It's hard to say if it feels more optimized than say RH 9 or the latest Mandrake, but it's perfect for my needs as a desktop system. I am able to play Warcraft III under Transgaming's WineX without a hitch.

Also, with the install process and actually compiling from sources, you will learn more about linux and how it works in the first week than in the first few months with other distros - my opinion/personal experience of course.

Sites to help you get started:
    Gentoo Installation Guide for x86
Optmized CFLAGS for compiler - Be wary of Pentium 4 options. See forums for more information.
Gentoo Forums - arguably the best linux support site on the 'net

  3. Re:Activation Keys? on Warcraft III Expansion · · Score: 0

The Frozen Thone expansion *will* have a unique cd-key to it different than the original cd. And IIRC, Brood Wars also had a separate cd key than the original game.

I wouldn't think the publishers make them add the "copy protection." They use it for battle.net purposes only. Only 1 instance of a unique cd key online at a time.

  4. you sure about that? on Warcraft III Expansion · · Score: 0
It seems you might be in the minority on this one. Here is a quote taken from blizzard:

We are proud to announce that Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos has recently received a number of awards from the gaming press. Telefragged.com selected Warcraft III as the Best PC Strategy Game of 2002, MacWorld Magazine selected Warcraft III as this year's EDDY Winner (Editor's Choice Award) for Best Game on the Mac, and Gamespot selected Warcraft III as both the Best Multiplayer Strategy Game of the Year and Best Overall PC Game of the Year.
Bad graphics... Have you played Brood Wars or Warcraft II lately? Boring gameplay? I guess that's why the battle.net servers are still flooded with Starcraft players and no one bothers playing Warcraft III at all.

Blizzard hasn't done anything wrong for you to say they have 2 strikes! Diablo II was a great seller and Warcraft III has broken all sorts of records. They are moving into the console market soon and releasing a MMORPG with World of Warcraft. Blizzard is a god of the RTS genre, and nothing will change that anytime soon.

I'm glad the courts decided to let him go.. I mean, cmon... IMHO, I don't think MP3s are all that bad. There's no way I would have bought some CDs without listening to a couple of the MP3s first... but whatever, no one cares about me anyways.

Great, now when are they gonna start supporting Digital Flat Panels? I've had mine for 6 months now, and still stuck with the shitty ATI Xpert@LCD card that it came with.

I was pretty excited to hear the V3 3500 supported DFP but they got rid of it when it changed over to the 3500TV. Anyone know of any plans for an upcoming video card to support DFP?
