I think the point is that there is always work. It might not be something you want to do, but some income is better than no income. I went through this almost exactly a year ago. After over 20 years in IT, I got "downsized" and had to look for other work. Of course I started by looking at something inside my existing skill set, but after a couple of months with no income, I bit the bullet and shotgunned my resume to anyone who would accept it. I now work as a construction site foreman. Have for about a year. Pay is shitty, but hey, it gets the bills paid. I don't have any spending money anymore outside food for the wife and kids, school, etc... but we're not starving and the kids' clothes aren't falling off of them.
If you need the money, you'll find a job. People just need to stop feeling "Since I used to make 70k/yr, I won't give up until I find something in a similar price range". Screw that. Get out and flip burgers or work at a gas station, or do some other "menial" job. You get to learn a new trade. Keep up your old skills in your spare time if possible to keep yourself marketable, but hell, don't just sit around and collect unemployment!
Besides, you can get a nice tan from working outdoors every day. Vitamin D is a good thing:)
I dunno. I live in Japan and over here, the Honda Inspire looks almost exactly like the Toyota Prius. Unless I can see the logo, it's hard to tell the difference. At a glance at least.
Just wondering what physical item google has for sale? RFID kits so you can outfit every item in your home and search it's location in your home via google search?
If I want to browse something without leaving a trace, i just use the incognito window. All new tabs are incognito, and it's easier to keep track of which window is "safe" and which isn't. All banking, etc.. goes in the safe browser.
You've gone incognito. Pages you view in this window won't appear in your browser history or search history, and they won't leave other traces, like cookies, on your computer after you close the incognito window. Any files you download or bookmarks you create will be preserved, however.
Because Chromium does not control how extensions handle your personal data, all extensions have been disabled for incognito windows. You can reenable them individually in the extensions manager.
Actually, when you bid on a government contract, you have to provide past performance data which is taken into account when they decide who is going to get the contract. The problem with aerospace stuff is there are only like 3 companies to go with on these bids so you've probably worked with them before. When only presented with 3 bad choices, you have to pick the "least least worst".
nope, no glowing bits, although there were radioactive components. We had a guy who got a splinter of some of the internals in his thumb and it grew up to a pretty huge size. Spent most of the rest of his military service in a hospital.
I actually used to be an electronics countermeasure tech in the Marine Corps. Our main job? Stop heat and radar seeking missiles from hitting our birds. Something like dangling a toaster from a pole isn't going to confuse a missile. They (the missiles) are frequently programmed in the field (via presets of course) for various kinds of targets, sometimes down to the engine IR signature frequency (think setting a missile to "AH-1" or "CH-53). Most common was to use a pair of different frequency coding disks to generate false engine signatures which would give a missile a 1:13 chance of hitting the "real" engine. Effectively, we gave the missile 12 engine signatures along with the real engine. That, combined with chaff, flares, and radar jammers, gave your average helicopter pilot a pretty good margin of safety against missiles. The countermeasures are handled automatically with manual overrides provided so things like flares can be manually launched. Basically, in every fighter movie where you hear that "beep beep beep BEEEEEEEP!" upon missile lock? That is what I worked on. Fun stuff:) Remember, you can't really dodge a missile in a helicopter...
All because you picked your carrier based on the phone. Dude. It's a phone. Use au or docomo if you want service. You can use your iphone on docomo, just switch the sim card, or, get an android from au and have coverage everywhere, even in the middle of nowhere.
And nobody noticed that this means apple is recording and analyzing every Sirius command?! Creepy!
So you're a born again atheist?
i live in Japan btw

Did anyone else read this whole thing in Sam Kinison's voice?
Perhaps it could be named "Project bash"?

It's like ten thousand spoons, when all you need is a knife....
Sorry, all of those "likes" in your post got that stupid song stuck in my head. Your post has more likes than facebook...
Mel, the cook on Alice...
Makes us look primitive to who? There is no one outside the human race to judge us.

I believe he is talking about the size and scope (capabilities, no pun intended) of the physical telescope, not the money for the project.

Damn, I wish I had mod points :)

But I think the real question then is why did the govt. pump $0.5B into ...
Is that bits or bytes? bibs?
Which could be caused by subluxations. You should call a chiropractor for that :)
Something like this could definitely be useful to me anyways. Damned red lights.. I hates em...
