    Notice that it's in PHP? Seriously, slashcode is converting to php from perl. That should tell you something about the guys now behind the scenes. Not that I believe that perl is better than php or vice versa, but still.. that was the CORE of slashcode. It's all going to "quick and easy to maintain".

    Well, since there is a Facebook app for damn near every phone over here, and you know that nobody in Japan goes anywhere without their phone, it's a safe bet that they will have a way to post their status.

    Yup, me too. Had a bag/car phone in the late 90's. That thing pushed out something like 7 watts IIRC! I was getting reception in places where humans have no right to communicate. I would charge people $1/min to use said cell phone since there was absolutely no wired or cellular service that could be used in that area.

    MAC filtering is useless and a non-broadcast SSID is even worse. It shows someone that you have something to hide. All it takes is a single client to connect and the SSID is in the open anyways.

    Just set it up with a WPA 2 password and set up a captive portal.
