  1. Doesn't mean it really works this way on Google's Site Ranking Secrets · · Score: 3, Interesting

Remember, this is a patent which requires no working model. In other words, this could be how Google *envisions* their search working as much as it indentifies any of the things it does do.

  2. You can use both on Advocating Dvorak · · Score: 1

I use Dvorak on my computer at home, but use QWERTY on the laptop we have since my wife uses it. With Windows you can have a little tray icon to switch and I have that also so my wife can easily use my machine if she needs to.

Also, if you know QWERTY now then its pretty easy to switch between them once you learn Dvorak.

lol. Read his posts, do some checking on this nutcase. He has a vision, but it is clearly slightly childish at its core. He may have given some of the impetus to this movement, but he is too whacky to keep it going over the long haul. Everyone sucking at this guys toes is a discredit to the rest of it. When you get RMS's d*ck out of your mouth, go do some research, this nothing to do with conservative/liberal.

People just like to demonize Bush.

Whatever. RMS is spewing more of his socialist drivel. His whole line of thought is induced by some acid trip from the seventies. Reread the thing, his stance represents the the worst of what free software and open source is about. He just wants you to give it all away, give and give, because of some notion that free means completely unencumbered. It's an idiotic standpoint, one that was maybe seminal in the start of this movement, but as the movement matures it begins to sound real silly.

Moderate parent up. He is dead right. Cable companies do not make any appreciable money on cable boxes. This is because the cable companies screwed up their provider model for the cable boxes and locked themselves into the few providers which they pay nearly $500 for a cable box. I worked for a cable company and this was one of the big reasons they supported the DOCSIS standard for cable modems which brought cable modems down into the $80 range, and possibly even lower now.
