What next? Giant TV's in restaurants to display advertisements while you eat?
I've seen giant TV's in mall food courts that display pretty much nothing but ads....granted it's not exactly a "restaurant"....but they've got to start somewhere.
Try getting specs for the via unichrome chipset....looks like there are at least a few companies that do little to help the open source community develop drivers for their hardware....maybe they don't want to sell their products as much as their shareholders would like them to.
Yeah...the CN400 has great performance...unfortunately the VIA drivers suck and VIA's not being very co-operative with the linux developers. I have a new board with the CN400 but unfortunately I can't make use of it's performance due to the crappy linux drivers.
Credit card companies still make money off their card holders who pay zero interest. They make money from the vendors you use your card with when you buy stuff. It's a percentage of the transaction...the percentage varies depending on the deal they have. This is a HUGE source of revenue
With credit cards, you can pay off the balance in full each month on a card with no annual fee. They just wait for you to be late once or have to carry a balance. About 30% of credit card users pay 0 interest and annual fees. I'm now one of them. To pay for the processing, and cover the rising cost of credit fraud (It's big) those who carry a balance and have the late mail once in a while get stuck with all the fees to pay for the system.
23.9% ?? Dude...there is NO LIMIT on what credit card companies can charge...at least not in Delaware (and South Dakota) which is where most of the lenders have set up shop. Credit limits are determined by the laws of the state where the company is incorporated.

It's not just the Renegades that like to spam. Last year I received spam from the Ottawa Senators asking me to buy season tickets....a lot of good that'd do...there is no season!
You'd think with all the techies in Ottawa these teams would know better than to spam.
Make money from the hardware and not subscriptions? Where's the content going to come from? Free downloads? Look at what happened with mp3's....companies tried to make money selling mp3 players for our free music....the music industry tained the P2P networks...and then apple introduces the ipod and itunes.....now they're making money hand over fist with itunes. Why go through the hassle of bad mp3's, viruses, popups, spyware when you can pay a reasonable amount for just the songs you want. The same will happen with movies and tv...it's innevitable.
I predict some big company will make a kick-ass set top box that allows you to pay for each show you want to watch....whenever you want to watch it. Sure they already have video on demand....but it's only a fraction of the content out there that's available. With a secure pay based P2P network all the movies ever made can be hosted and delivered accross the network of set top boxes. Bye bye DVD's and Blockbuster Video. I'd be doing this myself, if only I had movie industry connections.
Sorry dude, but the shows won't get made unless someone pays for more than just the hardware.

Really? I didn't know that. How do these free shows recoup their production costs?
