My personal theory is that domestic dogs evolved from coy wolves, a cross between coyotes and wolves that are quite smart, adaptable, opportunistic... and have little fear of humans. Modern coy wolves appear to be attempting to interbreed with domestic canines. Like Captain Kirk, the obviously have no qualms against dating outside their own species.
I miss my Google G1 phone which had a flip out mechanical keyboard, because I think I can type faster and more accurately on a mechanical keyboard than a touchscreen. So, while I'm not interested in a Blackberry, I am interested in phones with real keyboards and phones that can't be butt-dialed. e.g. the old flip phones.
Recording you car license plate seem like fair game to me -- it's in plain sight on public land. The other things, best not to argue with someone holding a loaded weapon, document it as well as you can and take them to court. Why do you have a problem with them knowing who is recording them?
Doesn't Chrome have the same problem? I've had to go into Task Manager and kill Chrome after getting the "You have a virus! Pay us money!" popup. (Have they fixed that in Chrome already?) My ex was stupid enough to actually call the phone number they put up on the screen, after which some Indian guy asked her for money.

Probably most of the 802.11ax protocol is done in firmware, not in the chip silicon. By saying it's a 802.11ax chip, they're just saying it meets the frequency demands of the current version of the spec, and they'll ship new firmware when the spec is finalized. Has that been a problem for any of the 802.11 pre-finalization chips yet?
Like global warming being increased by carbon dioxide releases, it pretty much makes sense that it would have _some_ effect. Even though 95% or so that get it free probably would just go without if they had to pay for it.
Because consumers are STUPID! Do you know that several companies make TOSlink optical audio cables... with gold-plated connectors? The ignorant consumer has been trained to think "gold-plated = better audio" just like they've been trained to think "bigger numbers = better". This is readily apparent with companies produciing 8K screens, which is twice the visual perception limit of the human eye! But hey, "bigger numbers are always better!"
Porn. Not quite as embarrassing when you're watching it on VR goggles as when you're watching it on the TV visible through the living room picture window. Why didn't 3D catch on? Too many different formats, and the age old chicken-and-egg dilema: nobody buys the devices unless there is content available, and nobody produces content if there are lots of devices out there to play it. Now explain to me who is buying 8K televisions with zero content for the available...
CD quality sound is sampled at 44.1Khz, so it's only capable of faithfully sound that IS audible to the human ear (about 20Khz). Who builds systems capable of accurately reproducing sounds that humans cant here? That seem pretty pointless.
That's the other restriction: it relies on ads being played on audio systems capable of generating frequencies higher than 30KHz at energy levels high enough to be detected by a device with a microphone capable of accurately picking up and digitizing frequencies above 30KHz. Possible, but not really the global norm yet. In fact, pretty much only works on rich people, doesn't it?
That relies on people being stupid enough to leave compromised apps running on a machine with a microphone, and only tells you what broadcast coverage area the user is in... it's not like it narrows the location down that much! If you've got a compromised app constantly sending data over the internet, wouldn't it be easier to just trace the IP packets back to the source?
In a blind comparison test, Monster Cables were indistinguishable from wire coathangers running a couple feet between the amp and speakers. Granted, for really long cable runs, i.e. 100 foot or more, good shielding and impedance matching makes a difference.
