On SNES games yea like Lufia 2, you'd get worn out pretty damn fast. The special mobs in FFXII were the only challenge in the game as soon as you got the Heal Ally and Attack Enemy gambits, and once you got the Antidote, Haste, etc gambits it was ridiculously easy. Even the bosses in the game were jokes with the gambits. The only reason I had trouble with the special monsters was cause my guys *werent* high level and were half assed equipped/skilled.

Too powerful? As SOON as I got heal ally and attack enemy the game played itself for me. Once I got the other gambits to cast haste and the like, it got even easier for my party to run house on anything other than the special mobs.

Fuck Final Fantasy XII. The instant I got the Attack and Heal 70% gambits, the game was basically over. The only gameplay I did was getting through dialog, buying shit, and then moving my party in the landscape while it automatically raped whatever I came across. The final boss was a joke, insofar as I left my house not less than 3 times for 1hour + each time while they were fighting him, and each time I'd come back and find 'oh shit, hes immune to phys or magic now, switch the gambits!' The game was basically a 60$ macro with dialog.

There's no twitch gameplay in WOW, are you kidding me? Twitch is what was in Asheron's Call and now Darkfall where you can manually dodge incoming attacks, as well as use superior tactical positioning to fight monsters and other players as well as simply against superior numbers. There's 5 of you and 20 guys coming? Get in a house or tower with 1 entry point and use it as a chokepoint. Gold selling is rampant in games with safezones and consensual pvp, in a game with FFA pvp, full loot, and no safezones, you are unable to do this the way they do it in WOW and other games.

Darkfall has neither, huge 10,000+ simulataneous players in the world, full loot pvp, no restrictions, everything in the game (except scale gloves/boots at the moment :( are craftable by players, it's skill based so you don't need to go down x path to be viable, just pick up a sword/board and kill shit, or pick up a polearm and do it, and the more you do it the more your skills raise. If someone steals your kills? Turn around and gank him, problem solved. No cryinga bout OMG THIS GUY IS KILLSTEALING/NINJALOOTING!!!, just take care of it yourself, or help protect those who are being molested in that way.

How is using the same tactic over and over, with no legitimate variability due to it being mobs running on basic AI programming challenging in the least? I've yet to play a game where there is any challenge/complexity in the PVE, you use the same tactic over and over with x mob. The only complexity I've found has been in PVP due to it being truly dynamic in every fight, atleast in games likes UO, AC, and Darkfall. Having a fuckin BLAST in darkfall, get ganked all the time but have tons of fun in the process due to the all the variables and such that make me actually think on my feet.

Actually I believe the terrorist attacks against US targets is #1 justified (atleast in the minds of those committing them for the reasons that they are doing them as they cannot take out military assets and instead NEED to attack the civilian population as it's the only target they can attack) as they have been at 'war' with us for over a decade, atleast AlQaeda has, and #2 remarkably ingenuitive. Using our own civilian infrastructure against us was a brilliant move, mostly because of the sheep culture which was in place where if anyone threatens you, just back away and do what they say otherwise 'you might get hurt' 4 guys with box cutters taking over a plane with 150+ people on it is just fucking ridiculous, and pathetic if you ask me. 9/11 WAS a horrible tragedy for us, but lets get real, 4 guys vs 150+, armed with BOX CUTTERS. That's like the spartans in the actual battle of thermopylae, except nobody fought back except on United 93 and by the time they fought back there it was too late.

If you are colluding with the enemy, providing them aid and shelter, you are fair game if you ask me. This pussified method of fighting 'wars' is why the US hasn't won one since WWII. If your city/village is providing support to the enemy, we tell you to out them or we will level your city. If you don't out them, we level your city. Once enough cities have been leveled, people will get the idea. It worked in WW2 against the fervently nationalistic Japanese, who were even more insanely devoted than most Muslims are, and it will work now too, but the Western world is too scared to do what needs to be done in order to win.
