A better idea might be to use the plane's power cables to transmit digital signals around the plane (this, like BlueTooth, is existing technology.) Or maybe the plane has multiple independent power sources? If so that seems unnecessarily complex and prone to individual failures bringing the plane down.
I do like the idea of the bluetooth system as a redundancy in case the wired system fails.
... Cringley might actually have hit on something here. Right now, Microsoft holds the Office suite over Apple's head. Maybe this will give Apple something to hold on Microsoft. But there are a couple of things I can't imagine:
1) Apple hiring people to write software for Windows.
2) Adobe actually being willing to sell. Well, at least not without a fight.
Yeah, but you can cover up the camera on your iMac and still use the display. This new display idea has the potential to prevent you from seeing the display without being seen. That's the Big Brother analogy.
How the heck does the original post of a score of 2? It's like saying I have the right to yell "FIRE" in a crowded room because it's freedom of speech.

Wouldn't a more fair analogy be that the muncher found that Doritos tasted better with Pepsi than with Coke? Would it be so wrong for Doritos to have an additive that reacted favorably with Pepsi but was inert with Coke?
I suppose the original analogy might be valid if the Skype code simply limited itself based on the processor type and not on capability, but only if Intel paid them to do so.
For completely selfish reasons I'm glad Google has done this. When I envision a China where people are free to do and say what they want, I see a country that the US cannot compete against. Google's move will help keep Chinese workers at a lower level, to the benefit of everyone else.
It's now obvious the long-held rumor that Apple had an Intel version of Mac OS X was true. So of course they'll make sure Mac OS X runs on any new chips IBM comes out with. If IBM wins out over Intel Apple will be ready.
Not to forget the annoyance of getting to TFA only to find very little left that wasn't in the "summary."

... no more dam commercial when visiting www.apple.com.
You *do* realize that was a compliment, RIGHT? :)
Hey, I think there was even a "their" in there. Wow!

I watched the first episode. It stank. Anyone who would continue to watch it after that would probably watch anything.
