  1. WebSideStory on the low end on Firefox Momentum Slows · · Score: 1

Let it be known that WebSideStory's Firefox numbers trail other browser-monitoring firms' numbers, such as OneStat and XiTi. A marketshare graph detailing these numbers can be found here. As you can see, Firefox is still trending upwards, by no stretch of the imagination. We're still in good shape.

This may be nit-picking, but does anyone hate it when you accidentally middle-click a tab that's not in focus? To be consistent with the tab bar's red X, one should be able to close a tab only if it's in focus, IMO.

And regarding your sig, It's only called terrorism when they do it to us. should be changed to It's called terrorism only when they do it to us.

According to Wikipedia, the name "cocktail" had its origins around 1800.

My first cousin once removed, Phil Greene, is a descendant of Antoine Amedee Peychaud, "the 19th New Orleans pharmacist who concocted Peychaud's Bitters and is credited with coining the term "cocktail."

    http://www.museumoftheamericancocktail.org/welcome /Founders.html:

Attorney, author of manuscript Creole Gumbo, and freelance writer and historian, Phil Greene is a descendant of the Peychaud family of New Orleans and the Bordeaux region of France (home to Chateau Peychaud). Among Phil's ancestors was Antoine Amedee Peychaud, the 19th New Orleans pharmacist who concocted Peychaud's Bitters and is credited with coining the term "cocktail." As the story goes, Peychaud mixed sugar, his own secret blend of aromatic bitters, and French brandy (for its medicinal powers, of course), and served it in a double-ended egg cup, called a "coquetier, which later was blurred into the term "cocktail." This brandy drink eventually evolved into the Sazerac cocktail, a classic New Orleans drink, which is still made with Peychaud's Bitters. Phil has become an authority on the life of the ironically initialed A. A. Peychaud, and tale of the cocktail, as well as New Orleans history, in general. As a founding board member of The Museum of the American Cocktail, he assists with outreach, promotion, writing, and local communications, while providing legal counsel. A graduate of New Orleans' Loyola University School of Law, Phil is Senior Counsel for Internet Technology with the U.S. Department of Commerce and lives in Washington, DC with his wife and three daughters.

A more accurate comparison would be: ...while wearing a shirt that said "create a carbon copy of this car and drive it around without the car designers receiving due compensation."

That would make for a nice t-shirt.

The machine being discussed here, the Dimension 2400, began last week at $299.

Yeah, and once you remove the CRT and the "free printer" at checkout, the price drops to $200. If there were an option to remove the keyboard/mouse, Dell could get the price down to $180 for the box alone. Highway robbery, I tell you.

I work at the Department of Energy, and recently put in a request to have Firefox installed on my terminal. My boss said it might take a while because Tech Support must first test the software to make sure it's not harmful! [oh, the irony...] After a few weeks, Firefox was approved and some random computer dude came down to my cubicle.

Dude: "I'm here to install Firefox."
Me: "Yeah, I have the executable right here on my desktop."
Dude: "Ok. [pause] So, what is this thing?"
Me: "It's a browser." I could tell he thought I was disgusted at his ignorance, so he said,
Dude: "You know, I've been playing around with Macs lately.."
I felt like patting him on the head and saying "good boy."

Perhaps what we need is a new meta tag to handle this bookmark title:

This fits much better in my bookmarks than the current title "Mozilla - Home of the Firefox web browser and Thunderbird e-mail client".
