  1. and i thought we had true free speech... on FBI Demands Logs From Radical Website · · Score: 1

this morning i was thinking about how great the internet is, how anyone can say whatever they want regardless of how asinine or idiotic it is. i guess i was wrong. Freedom of speech should allow people to say whatever they want, which includes anarchist, neo-nazis and yes even religious fundamentalists. you can't just prevent people from having opinions because they don't agree with you.

  2. it's obvious some execs dont know what people want on The Death of the Music CD · · Score: 1

"I think there will always be a market for the physical product," said Steve Blatter, 38-year-old vice president of music programming for Sirius Satellite Radio, a company that intends to thrive on the consumer's desire to customize musical options. "If you just want to listen to music on your computer, think about what you have to go through to listen to that Ashlee Simpson song. "There is a simplicity to the CD player." I hate going through all that trouble to find that Ashlee Simpson song.. yeah..

  3. Re:using this to observe further out? on Asteroid To Be Naked-Eye Visible In 2029 · · Score: 1

ah, i see. i thought it was a very long orbit, out past pluto. but i should have realized if it went as far as pluto chances are it wouldn't come as close to earth as it does now.

  4. Re:is this a surprise? on Why Does Windows Still Suck? · · Score: 1

apache isn't an os. alot of those servers can be windows machines running apache. besides, everyone knows iis is garbage. i wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole.

  5. is this a surprise? on Why Does Windows Still Suck? · · Score: 1

Well if windows only held 10% or 1% of the market then i would complain about the viruses. but when it holds nearly 90% you can't really say you didn't see it coming. why would a virus writer attack linux or osx when their target audience is very small. alot of people use windows, including alot of inexperianced people. this is such a huge target it's like trying to spit on the ground. you're going to hit it no matter where you aim.

  6. using this to observe further out? on Asteroid To Be Naked-Eye Visible In 2029 · · Score: 1

why don't we send a probe onto this asteroid to take pictures as it's being carried far out into the galaxy? or does it move too slowly to be efficient?
