Well as a long time linux user. You can make it as simple or as complex as you want. The easiest way is to setup a separate/home partition. There are tons of other ways from NFS mounting, Samba PDC roaming profiles, etc...
I use unison onto my server but its whatever your needs are.
An easy way to setup money if your network can hardle it is as follows. Have the computer automatically shut down after everyone has left. Then script a LAN boot to run in the morning before anyone gets there.
Well this seems to be a smaller PC with nothing good to offer. One PCI slot for expansion. No AGP or PCI-X. Also they only support Pentium 4s so you're looking at a portable toaster.
There is a reason why most companies insist on off-site and on site storage. So when you make that mirrored copy, you send one drive to your friend 500 miles away. It really, as always comes down to how much your data is worth.
Months to a few years: Optical
Years to a decade: HDD
Decades: Tape
If you just mirror it on two hard drives and then put them into storage, they will last for a very long time. HDDs only die when run via wearing out and not just sitting on the shelf.

Hey man X11 has had transparency since the Xorg6.7 release. Also KDE has had software supported transparency for far longer.

I have the ML-1710, it works great with my Linux systems FYI.
But you don't do massive documents in Word. It starts to slow down and screw up after 60 pages of text.
