What?! You trust what someone who's trying to sell something to you says about the very thing they're trying to sell? Sure, when it's objective facts (like how much memory it has, what colour it is) but subjective thing?! "It's better!"??! Even if someone doesn't set out to lie to you, you don't think their bias over a product that they've invested in is going to shape their opinion and therefore what's said about it? If not, I fear you really don't know how the human mind works very well at all, and that's really not going to do you any favours.
A) Slashdot has a very vocal group of whiney emotionally reactive girls B) Slashdot has a vocal group of Linux fans
- therefore C) All linux fans are whiney emotionally reactive girls.
I call faulty logic. A and B being true doesn't imply any truthiness to C.
I also question your use of the word 'love'... that was sarcasm right?
Well those two words have never been uttered in succession before... and never will again!
I don't know what people are getting so upset for, it's just marketting, it doesn't mean anything. It's not like they're gonna be saying on their linux pages "but you'll prob want the windows version, cuz this one's shit"... no, their linux page is gonna be bigging up their linux product (presumably, I cba to look). Is like when a waiter says "excellent choice sir" when you choose the soup, the guy who cooks the chicken isn't gonna pipe up and say "what's wrong with the chicken?!". Everything is better than everything else, depending on what you're looking at.
Well it's whoever got sued last gets the asylum seekers... it's basically like a game, you have to try get laws passed that you know someone else won't want, so they get sued, and then they get the asylum seekers... but then you've just got to hope that they don't have a law up their sleeves to introduce that you don't want, cuz then they all get sent to you. Polics. It's fun, cuz it's playing with peoples lives.
Yeah because people repeat stuff without giving it the plausability of it the slightest bit of thought because people love a good rumour. That doesn't give ANY weight to how true it is and you know it. Engage your brain! It could tell you all this itself.
The focus of the news has certainly switched, and so the focus of the people who are just angry at whatever they're told to be angry about by what's in the news that day has switched...
But at least we're not all dying of swine flu now.
I wonder what's going to destroy society next week. One thing's certain - it's either going to be really really scary, or it's gonna make us really really angry! Maybe if we're really lucky, both!
The moat thing was a few grand! And this is a "scandal", is the word thrown about... compare that to other "scandals", such as stuff with stanford, madoff, aig, enron, to name a few off the top of my head... major collapses, hundreds if not thousands of people losing their jobs and/or life savings, and what do we have going on here? "A couple grand to clean my moat please!" *lol* I've never been so proud to be British.
Yeah, unlike the states of america who would never erm... what's the word... 'unite' I think it is... and lose their complete autonomous sovereignty to the over governing federal government.
This is just what happens in the world. People unite and join forces. You can't be part of something bigger than you, while refusing to be part of it.
Err, yeah, but if you wanted the ocean yellow, but couldn't even be bothered to piss in it yourself, one would question quite how much it must really matter to you.
You need a what?!! Huh, I guess if you have problems fucking, a tool would be something you'd seek... can't see how it'd work, but I guess that depends on what kind of fucking problem you have.
Err, yeah, because that's what a 'union' is; a group of discrete and disparate entities all doing their own things with no overall direction or commonalities and without joining forces on issues...
Well I'm going to put aside everything I know about how difficult voice recognition, esp without any pre-training of the software for your voice, apply that to all the different accents everyone has, and the difficulty even a human ear can have at understanding them all... and believe your claims... because that's the kind of stupidity I feel like exercising today.
You have to run yourself and get votes, rather than expecting for there to be someone else who agrees with everything you would stand for if you could be bothered to stand for it EXCEPT that they CAN be bothered to... but of course, we have other things we want to do with our lives. We get the people we deserve.
Usually if the architecture's mentioned (eg, i386, x86_64) then that's already compiled, as that's showing the architecture's machinecode it's been compiled to. Sourcecode is usually written in an architecture independant language, like C, ie, it can be compiled to run on any processor that there is a C compiler that targets. Obviously it's not quite as simple with Windows apps, as even though the C code may be arch independant, API calls used from the code usually aren't (support from wine etc being exceptions).
Google -> search 'media player classic home cinema' -> click top result -> click 'download' on the left -> choose the version you want (win32/x86_64) and click the 'download' link on the right -> gives you list of versions (somewhat redundant here), click the full filename (eg, mplayerc_homecinema_x86_v1.2.908.0.zip), save it to disk. How can you go wrong?
It wasn't in the name of God; the wars were in the name of power and the people. They weren't holy wars, they were countries at war. Even oil, even back in WW1, played a large role. With the British Royal Navy switching from coal to oil, Germany wished to follow suit, but Germany had no oil producing collonies, and the British controlled the Suez canal, which made getting oil into Germany difficult, and so the construction of the Berlin-Baghdad railroad, via former Constantinople. The first British troops deployed in WW1 were deployed in Basrah, protecting our oil interests out there (yes, we've been back there again quite recently). Commercial and military interests in Britain and France didn't want Germany to get their hands on the black gold. In WW1 came the chance to stop them. This was nothing to do with God. These were emerging economic powers clammering for dominance and a place at the world table.
"I think you are saying that a person can't like/. and be a Christian?"
No, I said "whether you're for or against", that bit was relating to christianity, meaning that peoples arguments on here, whether they're arguments for or against christianity (as there are plenty of both) are completely whacky.
"Germany and Italy were 95%+ 'Christian' Those didn't act in self defense"
Are you sure? Remember that in WW1 countries across Europe were dragged into the war due to legal obligations, because of the complex web of mutual defense treaties signed between countries, and that includes Germany. Notice the important word there, right after 'mutual'. It was a defense treaty that got Germany pulled in. And did Germany suffer for it. Long after the war was over, massive war reparations were levied against Germany, sanctions forbidding them to build an army, keeping their population down trodden so they couldn't become a threat again. Of course you cannot just do that to an entire population for 50 years and not expect them to become bitter; they fought back. Hitler used this platform to rise, promising people that he would get back for them that which they were being denied, that which was rightly theres. By this time, a new generation of people were out there, held down by war reparations from an event that happened before they were even born, how was this justified? They obviously didn't feel it was... and so they fought their "evil oppressors"... this is defensive. Of course it didn't stay that simple, and other factors came into play, but once there's a momentum, it's hard to stop.
That's like suggesting the Catholic church go round court cases speaking on behalf of paedophiles. I think other religions would instead tend to stand against any of their members who behave badly, in order to try and preserve their own name.
"Naivety, once vanquished, leads to skepticism"
Only for people who don't have enough control over themselves to establish a middle ground.
And who needs them?

Your spelling was spot on though.

By being good at their job presumably.
It's not like they're gonna be using harriers to pick up prostitutes.
The RAF did that?!! Huh... I thought that was the home office.

If what I said wasn't meant to be taken seriously at all anyway, the facts really don't apply.
Yeah, unlike the states of america who would never erm... what's the word... 'unite' I think it is... and lose their complete autonomous sovereignty to the over governing federal government.

Are you sure you meant to pick those two words?

All the rest of us start sending them all our asylum seekers mwuhahahaaa!

Perhaps that too (I've not looked at the evidence for it), but still that doesn't invalidate my point.
