    It's not about strong vs. weak federal system. It's about checks and balances. In this case, the states and the federal government were meant to balance each other and provide a system of checks against each other.

    I tried to cash the check, but the bank returned it, saying that somebody hasn't passed a budget in the House since they got there.

    Most places with an income tax have a formula similar to state income taxes. "take metric A, send us XX% of it" The US has multiple classes of income, piles of deductions and exceptions, almost as many rebates, progressive tiers with regressive caps, and many other contradictory schemes.

    What's an income tax?

    Our state doesn't have one.

    The Tax Foundation is nonpartisan in the sense they are against taxes and regulation and are run by representatives from Koch Industries, Exxon, former Bush-Cheney campaign advisers and Republican politicians. That kind of nonpartisan "think tank".

    We used to call those Terrorist organizations back in my day.

    Also, who the fuck needs 2GB of RAM on a fucking phone!? My old computer (which I was using until just a year ago) got by on 2.5 GB of RAM, and it ran just fine. I can't imagine doing many of the things that I do (and did on my old computer) on even a fancy phone. For one, the screen is too small, and there is no built in keyboard. Not to mention, I doubt my toolkit has been ported to Android.

    I agree, nobody will ever need more than 640k of RAM.

    It's also illegal to drive with a head mounted bluetooth headset or Google Glass in Washington State too, just as it's illegal to drive with a cell phone.

    Recent UW research shows 45 percent of distracted drivers have cell phones. Using those while driving is also illegal.

    If you have to ask if something that can distract you while driving is illegal, you already know the answer. Pay attention to the road.

    The problem is perception of risk, and the care people have.

    Cars that kill old people who wave their canes at them when they take too long to clear the intersection .. meh.

    Cars that don't realize small babies aren't rocks and crush them as a result ... people sue over that stuff.

    Which form of subsistance farming? Traditional subsistance farming or the Intensive subsistence farming used by most people in the are of the Earth that has most humans and growth?

    One uses few inputs, the other has a lot of inputs.

    While the USN has been slow to adapt, relying on more conventional aircraft carrier refit packages to add complements of drones, in reality the paradigm shift means that drone frigates make a lot more sense, in terms of force projection and our actual enemies faced.

    As well as the secret drone mods we do to "commercial" shipping units.

    That and shifting to a shorter supply train using solar and wind resources to reduce our logistics.
