    Since I was a small child at Expo 63 and Expo 67, they have been promising fusion power and interstellar travel in 10-20 years ...

    Let's get real and realize we're more likely to be able to use technologies we actually have patents for now, not pipe dreams that are always "in the future".

    Robots we send off into space will do perfectly well, and then they can merge with alien civilizations and come back to destroy their makers.

    OTOH, if 10 feet are 1m then it would be a serious hindrance to Samsung's defense.

    PS: I could do the conversion but I'm old -- and I'm talking on behalf of young Americans, since the USA already adopted the SI. They could have a hard time in understanding obscure units, unless of course they were exposed to braindamaged articles with said idiotic units.

    10 feet is approx 3.3 meters.

    Except in Bahrain and Lapland.

    Maybe because Amazon as a company doesn't benefit from the government provided services that are supposed to be covered by sales tax? Sales tax is often used to pay subsidies for "better" operating procedures, like cleaner operations, employing certain individuals, etc.

    A business without a physical presence in a state does not share those benefits, which is why the SCOTUS said they shouldn't have to pay for them either.

    Excellent.

    Time to start looting Amazon delivery trucks, since they won't be protected by the police, and sell them like any pirate would.

    In actuality, this is a Tax fiction, used to avoid taxation on their massive EU and US/Canada earnings, and there is pressure by the EEC, since Ireland's economy is failing due to lack of tax collection from the Rich and Corporations like FB, MSFT, etc, to restore tax levels to a more common historic level.

    But this does not provide them with a legal defense against violating National Privacy rights, as any Scientologist in Germany knows.

    However, multi-person chats and chats between two people that are friends without permissions both turned off to you do in fact show up.

    Had fun for a couple of days repeating what I overheard in my status so that my friends realized the whole world could hear them - or their moms might find out ...

    You have to have chat on - if you disabled it (because it's really annoying) you won't see it.

    US version only. Click on Friends - check subscriptions - enable only those you want enabled. Shows up on Home in the upper right corner.

    Note if one friend has permissions (by default) enabled, you still get to hear both friends even tho one turned it off.

    Even if you only "know" both of them thru some passing knowledge, you can see their private chats and messages so long as 1 of the 2 or (for multi person messages, at least 1) of them has not blocked it explicity.
