So the MacIntels using the Core Duo, seem to be faster than the G5, but not by much (at least in real life). From the keynote we learnt that MacBook Pros are also faster than PowerBooks G4. I wonder, in real life, how faster will the successors of the iBooks G4 be, since they will most likely use the Core Solo?
I am really curious, since the iBooks G4 uses chips that are not significantly different from the Powerbooks G4. Will the Core Solo be up to the job?
True. At least they bought the company. Look at what Apple did with the Dashboard and the widget. They stole them from another company. Now they are praising how good the widgets are. Lame.
I agree! Look at Google Earth (just one example). It's a wonderful, innovative program. But since google did it, there is no much talk about it. Would have been Apple, we would hear plenty of people praising how innovative, "the best of the world", the first.... (unfortunately it wouldn't be free though)...
PalmSource was acquired by ACCESS. PalmOne (now called Palm), is still an independent company. Palm(One) license PalmOS from PalmSource, at least until 2008. But technically they can license any kind of OS they want, in fact they just licensed Windows Mobile 5.0 for the Treo 700w.
So as far as Palm is concerned they are just licensing the software from Palmsource, waiting (desperately) for PalmOS 5 successor, Palm for Linux.
Glauber didn't discover the laser, if this is what you mean. He provided the theory for quantum optics, which deals with quantum electrodynamical interactions of light and matter. Hall and Hänsch instead developed laser-based precision spectroscopy: in other words they used laser for high precision frequency measurements. Coherent optics is not just about laser, but what you can do with them.

It's not in the actual Hawking's theories. It's Einstein's. 100 years ago (1905)... Because of it, this year is the World Year of Physics. Giving the scarce knowledge of Physics in the experiment done, I wonder if those people should take again itroductory Physics. Too much Star Trek, to little electromagnetism. Scary, very scary.
If you look at Secunia, in some cases the number of advisories for Micorosoft products (2003 Server in particular) may be lower than for RedHat Linux Enterprise or SuSE. However, while both RedHat and SuSe products are fully patched (0% unpathced), Microsoft has 11% unpathced for Win2003 and 24% for WinXP. This is what people should care about. A safer system is NOT necessarily the one with less advisories, but instead the one with NO UNPATCHED advisories. Saying the contrary is irresponsible and false.
Envy?

So let's call it iMistake. So please fill an iBug.

A Community College close to where I live claims it's an ivy league...

Don't get me started.
Gaim is definitively the best for me. In addition version 2.0 will provide webcam support for MSN and Yahoo.
http://gaim.sourceforge.net/
From the release notes:
"New support for Web Standards including SVG, CSS 2 and CSS 3, and JavaScript 1.6".
Isn't enough?

Your link refers to last year Nobel. This is for this year: Physorg 2005 Nobel Prize in Physics

This is definitively not running WinXP. Yes there is a launch bar as in WinXP, but it looks totally different to me. From news.com:
"The Mobilis desktop is powered by Intel's XScale PXA255 200/400MHz processor and has 128MB of SDRAM."
The only way you can run MS on this is by using Windows Mobile. From the picture it doesn't look like that either.
ARM processors are nice for the low-power requirements. I hope we can get them here in the US too.
