I can sort of see the other side of the argument. If I take your source for Program A, make a very, very small modification, close the source, and sell the program for billions, I imagine you'd be a little salty about it. The point being you did 99% of the work that made me rich, and you're entitled to none of it.
Also, I use FreeBSD. Unless something has dramatically changed with ATI drivers on FreeBSD in the past year, the drive quality argument goes right out the window.
I believe the non-partisan part comes from changing your specific quote into the article title.
Instead of having one giant comment thread that's republican bashing, the editors change it to be a discussion of political activism in general (regardless of who you're backing).
Suppose I make a string class, kinda like the STL string:
string foo;
1) foo = "whatever";
2) foo = foo + "bar";
3) foo = 7;
4) foo = foo + 7;
5) foo += 7;
The last three lines made me cringe.
Any strongly typed language should yell about lines 3, 4, and 5.
I also find it amusing that you complain about C++ being too loosely typed, then you want it to do something like that. Those would fail in C# as well, which you used as an example further down.
Of course it's small. From searching AT&T's site (my DSL provider):
Results of search for: ipv6
Did you mean: ip ips

No results available in this category.
It looks like they might support it on their business accounts.
Not to mention alot of devices don't support it yet.
I know the DS specifically doesn't. I was actually commended by tech support for asking a "really tough question" when inquiring about IPv6.
Haven't they heard the news in the BSD camps? Scripting in csh is considered harmful. [faqs.org];)

I guess I've never had to do anything more than sh/ksh couldn't handle (or if I did, I just whipped it up in perl instead).

As a BSD user (OpenBSD and FreeBSD), the only way I run into bash is to explicitly go and install it. Actually, the only place I have run into bash as a default install is on Linux.
He can talk with people privately all he wants.
He cannot discuss them 'publicly,' which I assume would mean the media.
This actually bring up an interesting question: "If you're the business of turning your hobbies into successful video games, do you hobbies become a trade secret?"
For all we know, they might be working on some new 'hobby' game that's not announced yet. There's a possibility that someone might take note of his publicly disclosed hobbies and make a game, beating them to the market.
Not defending the decision, just some food for thought.
I wonder what happens if you inform a cop that you are recording him when he pulls you over.
I'm going to go with "a bunch of the usual" since alot of squad cars have dashboard cameras now.
I'm not sure what you're getting at. The number of files available to upload is controlled by the person who built the site.
If the system was built to support multiple file uploads, there would be multiple file upload inputs on one form. Which would also mean the server-side code is also built to handle that many uploads correctly. Technically, you could craft a post to send as many files as you want, but it's still only going to process what it's expecting to receive.
but i'm sure your hand gun will protect you.... definitly... right. It'll protect me better against another gun than a bat, axe, sword, or knife.
On the other hand, I'd rather not see every Dick, Tom, and Harry pull guns out and start shooting when someone with a gun shows up. That'll just result in alot of collateral damage (property and human).

Oh thank god! For a second, I thought they might have wanted to get their message out to as many people as possible.
</sarcasm>
That's becuase everyone I talk to thinks "I don't do anything illegal, why should I care."
Which, as anyone here will tell you, is a terrible argument.
As I recall, it's actually the rice that makes it sushi, not the other ingredients.

And that's only a viable option if your using a i386 kernel. Wine explicitly forbids you to use it on AMD 64 (and others).
Don't think that our borders will stop the RIAA from attempting to impose their will across the globe.

Have you ever called to get DSL service from AT&T?
"I'm running Linux."
"Is that like a version of Mac or something?"
Once, I was even told the Internet isn't compatible with Linux. Love those tech support centers.
I'd have been fine (or accepted my imminent death), I took the test.
You left off one of my favorites: Having God call in a bear to maul children making fun of baldness.
I've always wondered how biblical scholars would explain that (I haven't asked yet).
This post brought to you by the "I didn't click on the name and get the joke" department.
Is that a "terrorist fist jab" I see?

I think if the Chinese wanted to shoot them down, they would. I have a hard time believing this guy could find them, but not China.
